Don't underestimate my hatred and unadulterated anger at the 'rumours' doing the rounds regarding the Roosters supposedly being over the cap.

Rleague have actually gone as far as publishing an article. Whilst we have no say in what an individual may choose to post on a forum, a documented article is an entirely different matter.

It is open season on worl lovers and mutants as far as I'm concerned. I'll not ever so much as give that maggot infested site a hit, in fact I haven't been there since the 7's were shagged by NuttO.

From my understanding the rumours were created at rleague and I for one am praying that our club sues them.

I think it may have come from the Cronulla site to start with - but its mainly Cronulla supporters and St George supporters who have started most of the threads on WORL - read my reply to Roostergirl's post on the you know what subject . I feel for her - having to obey her masters but i wished she would sometimes cull some of the crap that manages to get on the Roosters forum on WORL. It is an open forum for Rooster bashing. I agree with you - i've had a big gutful of it. don't intend to even bother reading the forums anymore nor answering some of the bloody ridiculous threads that are on there.

The Leagueunlimited.com mob knew about this rumour as well and we didnt even get close to running an article about it. When someone suggested we run an article, he laughed and it was followed up with more laughter because quite frankly, it was only a rumour.

At best, it deserved a thread in the NRL section and even then with some reservation and chuckles.

I haven't seen the article on rleague (can't even find it now) but given matto's blind Bulldogs view of the world, I can imagine that he'd love nothing more than to see another team being caught out... as if to justify the Dick Darstardly's of last year. ;-)

Still, we'll have to see what happens next week.

btw, the rumour was started by a Sharks supporter...

Willow, I have a copy if you'd like to see what another site considers worthy of their front page. Having said that, their have been explanations and apologies offered regarding the author and as I'm not psychic I can't say this chap is MattO but I also can't say he isn't. Whatever the case, all this has done, apart from rile up Rooster fans even more than they already were where that site is concerned, is enforce what an amateur show it actually is in the terms of the articles they consider newsworthy.

I think the whole thing was disgusting and formal apology should definately be given by the Writer and MattO.

I did a small snippet on it in my preview but finished by saying it was more speculation than anything else. I think that's fine and I never mentioned the clubs name at any time. What I say on the forums and what I write are two different things. Some may call it hypocritical but we have always prided ourselves on taking a balanced view and will never put anything to print without the facts.

I had to laugh at most of it 8) . If he had his way, Mini and Wing would have to go back to Souths, Finch back to Canberra (that would please them ;-) ), Fitzy to Cronulla (the hallucinogenic drugs were starting to take hold here considering Fitzgibbon came from the Dragons), Walker to Manly ( [-o&lt, post: - damn it I shouldn't be like that), Morley to Wigan (even though Leeds have first option), and Hodges - well the sky is the limit according to the marked Mr Chong (maybe he could go to the Storm, Lord , member: -) )- nice for the kid to finally get some recognition. :lol: Just goes to show, how much (some) other fans covet our boys.

My annoyance is with the insinuation that we are cheating and we [i"]have[/i] to be cheating to have a team the callibre of which we have and that he was given a medium to present these views on the front page of a league site under the guise of a writer. Any last shred of credibility rleague may have still had (and this is debateable) is shot.

legend you and me don't see eye to eye about your team and mine but i still respect you for a great site here and will continue to do so even if we continue to take the rinse out of each other.

However, the best thing about this site it is self controlled, it doesn't need to much monitoring and hopefully it will remain that way.

But the WORL has become a pathetic bitch fight and all monitors over there need to have a hard look at themselves for allowing jibs, rinse taking to get out of hand. I haven't seen too much swearing in this forum because it would appear that the crowd that gets here are older than the teenie boppers running around WORL or are more mannered around those who are.

Well a Rooster supporter contacted Ray Hadley today [via email] I think and hadley mentioned the owner of the site by name and basically agreed that it was libelous.

Legend, I am alot like you in the respect of what I write on forums and what goes into my 7's articles are entirely different. I think even the most brain dead specimen would also realise that since I have been a member of LU I am far less hostile to barbs from posters of other clubs. The reason is two fold, firstly I enjoy posting on this site and respect it, secondly I have too much respect for the people who post here to get into too much argy bargy with them.

O'Neil has done another article but I'm still yet to see an official retraction or apology from him. The buck stops with him, he is responsible for articles posted to the site.

Sorry Pen but any credibility I had in that department went South when I replied to Mr O's post. While I should regret it and I'm probably getting a pasting (and rightly so) I can't get that sentence out my head where he wrote that the dogs are the rightful premiers and last years GF was a contest for second place.

I now have no links to worl on my computer what so ever and will not view ever again. After my (uncharacteristic) performance, I don't think I'll be allowed to post, so all is good.

Anyway, I am really satisfied that Matt O'Neill is being sued. He's been a very bad example for how to professionally run a site and now he's been bitten. As a Souths supporter, we have to put up with the poster 'Botak' with his jabs at David Tapp and Paul Langmack. MattO actually defended him and now the whole forum is gone because of that mentality. I was told about this site and have made a switch. I expect many many more to do the same.

A word of advice. Don't let the idiots in. At any cost keep them out.

MattO actually disabled the writer's submission privlieges (all GF's work would be audited, previosuly he had full access) and deleted the article as soon as he saw it.
