I am proud to be a Tiger!

Sitting at Leichhardt Oval yesterday, looking across at the hill, packed, black and gold all over the place you can't help but love it.

The game begin like a train wreck for us and we are 8 nil down before I have eaten my first pie. Holy crap.

Then Watts (the dog) made the biggest mistake of his career, he punched Faffy with an assault of cheap shots that left our skipper reeling and thinking he was in the queue for Space Mountain at Disneyland.

Then the next scrum showed us all what it means the the boys to be a Tiger.

Robbie absolutely pulverised Watts (the little germ) into submission in one of the best old fashioned square ups in rugby league history.

The Tigers gelled as a team yesterday in front of all of us, with the directive for the square up coming with the blessings of Mr. T. Sheens himself.

Other clubs may rant about their spirit and their pride in their jersey, but yesterday we saw it, loved it and screamed for more.

Benji had one of his best, Ellis is the best signing since Prince and Hodgo and Faffy's try to put a nice shiny nail in their coffin was as sweet as my Nan's apple pie.

Thurston is a low dog.

Go the Tigers

Bubbles.

I looked at that packed ground yesterday and wonder why we are not a consistent top four team.

a) We don't have a single home ground
b) We have had to endure Morris in the halves for four years
c) We are inconsistent as f**k

I can't believe it took Sheens 3/4 of the season to pick the best 1/6/7 combination.

Home grounds don't matter.

As soon as Morris was moved from the halves, I knew we'd thump the Cowboys and Souths.

We could've been a top 4 side with this squad. Plenty of potential if everyone played in the right position. As soon as Benji was put back at 5/8 and Moltzen to 1/2, we'd come good. sh*ts me that it happens when we've got next to no hope making the top 8.

This year we won 4 out of the 6 games at our traditional grounds and all against quality sides (except maybe Canberra). If we won 66% of our games we'd be in the 8 and I can guarantee we would have had a sell out there yesterday. When the team succeeds we are financially secure.

Every other team has a crack at the finals by playing 12 proper home games.

We try and get there with an iffy coach, a clown in the 6 (look towards the hunter) and 6 proper home games a yr

Like trying to win a melbourne cup with mark tookey as the jockey

Yeah I know all that, maybe what it was i was wondering is how the f**k does a club like this get support like that, cause theres sure as hell some top 4 teams would love this type of support....perrennial underachievers that havennt lived up to potential for seasons now

I cannot disagree more on that comment that home grounds do not matter.

Phil Gould talks about the Leichhardt factor - that is something we are lucky to have but only use for a quarter of our home games. Campbelltown gives us much th same. All those games at the SFS, Homebush, SCG - may as well be played behind closed doors, thats how little home support or atmosphere is lost in those oversized caverns.

The question is only whether the fans would consistently turn out like they did yesterday if al games were at the traditional home grounds and get behind the team and in the refs ear as bluntly as yesterday. We all prefer a Leichhardt game over an SFS game but I reckon the best solution in the circumstances is to get out there and make sure opposing teams know theyre at a Tigers home match even if its at the SFS etc.

Yeh, bit difficult when the club targets opposition fans rather than their own

Whilst I agree Hybrid that it felt like 4 years of Morris crap,it was 2 and half years,he only signed for 3 years, thank god for Cronulla.
