I Come Back To Visit Old Memories And....

Well i have come here to vsiit old memories of the rleague forums. I have really, really been missing them, and the people on them. I check the select a forum list, and I see emeging states, an rleague creation, proposed by me, rejected, proposed by Lewis and accepted. I go in there and see some of the people who posted at rleague in taht section psoting in there. I go to the league gaming section I see all the old posters from the rleague one, and the excitement building as the game draws ever closer. I feel that I have been reunited.

But I save the best until last. The Wests Tigers forum. The one I miss the most. I see all the pold posters are here, but I was looking through rose cloured glasses.

I am filled with the memeories that half the posts in here are simply tripe referring to bringing back the original teams, especially in the off season.

Guys, its really just stupid. the topic has been covered and argued upon several times and is just really getting pathetically old. And even if the thread isnt about bring the old teams back, and my teams better than your team, it turns into it!

This Wests Tigers forum, be it rleague or leagueunlimted, is a very good place to discuss the team. But the wars within the teams are just stupid.

WTF is "From The Prince Himself" all about?

This is a discussion board. Western Suburbs and Balmain make up the Wests Tigers. Discussions on either club or their merits in relation to each other will happen and continue to happen. I for one am happy to see that. It means people are passionate about their team. If you're not passionate about your team you're following Union.

We have a unique club. It's not a takeover like St. G/Ill or the failed merger of Manly / Norths, this is the only true JV in the NRL. And although it's had its dramas, for the moment it is possible that it could be here for a long, long time.

All discussions regarding the NRL team or the two clubs that make up the NRL team should be encouraged.

EWS, it's part of the tribal nature of supporting League. It won't stop. People who go there invariably get hammered and some of the stuff is pretty funny.

Go with it, love it, be part of it.

No, hating teams you play against is part of teh tribal nature of supporting league. Not hating half of the team you support. Wests and Balmain are both part of the Wests Tigers, and after four years, people shoul have gotten used to it by now.

Actually, there's no basis for comparison for you to say that. The JV is 4 years old but up until '99 there were no other JV's, so to say that 4 years is enough isn't a sustainable argument given the complete lack of anything to compare it to. It may take decades.

Some people have followed their team for 20 years, 4 years to embrace another team as part of their team isn't that long.

I don't condone the discussions and I agree that the people who are holding onto the thought that the JV may split and their team once again will stand alone should get over it. But the discussions will continue until the current generation of supporters are pushing up daisies.

I don't care for Balmain too much and never have but I don't go out of my way to bag them either. I just do that when it suits me. ;-)

I know Western Suburbs 95 years was like 20 years for a real club (when they managed to win more than twice a season), but that is still brutal.

Every Wests fan should ask themselves if the JV has made them follow their club with more or less passion..... obviously besides King & Gobbs (who don't have anything to do or any friends.. especially Gobbs ;-) )
