cronulla fans only have themselves to blame

for a team that supposedly has the whole shire behind them - their crowds have been sh!t

Maybe if 5 games a year or are moved to gosford - then their fans might finally appreciate what they have got.

Whats to say we could even play out of ANZ at all. How many teams are there now? Souths, Bulldogs, Tigers. Cant see how it would be an open $100k cheque book for any team wanting to play there.

Tigers don't play all their games there, and the same 3 were there plus the Dragons last year.

It's something we should look at IMO if we could get money similar to the CC is offering.

Fans like supporting teams that are winning...

Tigers don't play any home games at ANZ any more, they played 6 their last year (as did the Stain), but moved them to the SFS this year. Its only Bulldogs and Souths now.

All reports today suggest the NRL will not approve our scheme, the CC don't want us and the Bears will put every obstacle in our way to suit their agenda. So it looks like the plan will not get off the ground - so if not what do we do?
Do we give up on this idea and go looking for other easy money or do we and the club group together and fight our way out of this sh*t fight

We need to get inventive and lose the apathy -by accepting the idea we are agreeing that the club has no future in the Shire - one guy wrote in the Leader that we accept failure too easily - unless we fight he was right

So:
  • We shoulds stop fighting over history and whether Kimmorley or Barrett are the best option - its done we have to get over it
  • We need to rally all our apathetic FOX sports watchers and get their bodies into Shark Park
  • We need to create fortress Cronulla where opposing teams hate to go because we will bag the crap out of them not ourselves
  • The club needs to promote promote promote - i drove past the ground last night - why the f**k is there nothing up advertising the Stains game - its the biggest game of the year - its in the graveyard shift but we need it sold out - promote the f**king game
  • Get the players into every school - its a bye week - let them have a break from busting their arses and get some support drummed up
  • Get the most talkative players on every sports programme - talk us up - there is enough media writing us off - we need to reverse it3
  • Get injured players on the TV - our blokes pick up a knock and disapear off the earth
  • The club should think of new ways to get cash - in the 1980's my UK soccer team went bust - they got the fans to buy shares (special memberships) as part of a rebuild - maybe $500 - $1,000 per person / business - get a 1000 interested - raise 1/2 to 1 million
  • Keep the family ticket at $40 - make the food affordable - gets the kids in the ground - they buy food and get dad to buy grog
  • do a few specials on jerseys - get the shirts on the streets
  • grab a few youngsters and get them in the side and make a big deal over it - its done marvels at Penrith, Wests, Canberra - Coote, Graham, Dugan, McDonnell - so what if they stuff up the firsts are anyway - if we get speedsters we will attract fans - example - Jennings makes one bust on a Monday night - fans go mad, the Wiz spills his load and Penrith are the team of the moment
  • Get the leader to give us bigger ads for less money and promise then lots of feel good stories
  • Start using the ground - soccer, car shows - anything - get the asset to work - this shows that the board know nothing about property - any property business knows you must get a return on the asset - using it 12 days a year just is not enough
  • Look at the cost of running a game - how can Gosford without a bank to bank roll it guarantee us $100k profit when we make a loss - as a bean counter the numbers beat me
It should not be the fan base thinking up these ideas (even if some are crap) - the club needs to invent ways to market itself and get people in the ground.

Good in theory.
However, the modest 13k budget for home games has fallen short by 30k tickets.
Lets say 30kX $25 = $750,000 loss so far this year.
Even if we get our average back up, it wont help. We need to recoup that money.

156,000 tickets were budgeted
96,000 projected on current attendance levels
short fall of 60,000 tickets
or short fall of $1,500,000 for the season.
Required pax per game (Current shortfall of 30k pax /7 )= 4300 + (budgeted crowd average 13k pax) = 17,300 per game

FMD , by Shire residents? No f**king way.

If the NRL says no to doing it this way will they look at a full relocation?

May be the only option.
