...Myself a 1996 Limited Edition Western Suburbs Magpies Jersey for $37 off ebay. It was the strip the Magpies wore the week after they beat Norths by the Willis Field goal. They played Manly and Brookvale, and Manly wore their foundation strip from 1947, and Western Suburbs produced their strip that they would have played in back in 1947. I guess both clubs just wanted to celebrate the rivarly. Its a gem

I've been wanting to get my hands on a retro Balmain jersey recently, and I'll be fvcked if I'm going to pay $140 for the 1989 jersey from Mick Simmon's. Anyone know a good resource to find one perhaps??
Or I'll just keep on scouring Sydney's Vinnies till I find one... that's a mile too small...

keep your eye on ebay - jerseys (and plenty of other goodies) come up pretty often and normally at great prices.

(and to turn this into an advertising thread I'm looking for Balmain and wests tigers stuff in baby/toddler sizes so if anyone has anything they're looking to get rid of....my plan is to saturate this kid in tigers before it has a chance to even think about following another team :lol

Yeah different strip again Lance. That strip the Magpies played in, back in 1995 against St.George at the SCG, had an extra 2 thin whit pars above the white bar in the middle.

That's the jersey Lance (Magpie) was referring too. Similar, but different time or era i guess. The one i've bought of ebay was the jersey or strip the Magpies would have been wearing back when Manly played their first season back in 1947. Bloody Bewdiffffuuulll

Yeah the SCG game one was a replica of the 58 grand final (and 52 Premiership side) We played in that style from 49 or 50 and the V from 61 on.

Gobbso's one is from the previous era. Same one as the 30, 34 & 48 Premiers (although they had long sleeves then). We played in that style from about 1920 apart from a few years during the war when we alternated between a single white v on a black jersey and an all black jersey.

Remember the SCG game well. I only threw the ticket to it out last year. Tallis killed us and we were never in the hunt. He was inconsistent back in those days, but he picked us to have a blinder against.

The Balmain web site www.tigers.org.au states that they do a proper Balmain jersey for $120 or $110 if you are a member, no sure if it's Leagues Club or Football club. The jersey is plain without sponsors and has the old style NSWRL and Balmain badges.

Otherwise eBay is the best place to keep looking for old jerseys.

well there are retro jerseys from classic sportswear if they have 69 jerseys in 4xl

but gobbsy you did a good deal & brookie good to see youre doing what most sensible parents should do & get your baby in tigers gear
