I keep getting sore throats

Sounds like your personal hygiene needs to be improved if you have recurring throat infections.

I suggest you brush your teeth at least twice a day aswell as gargling mouth wash or salt water after brushing.

If you're already doing this, or at least brushing your teeth regularly, it could be a viral infection.

Can you descride the tpe of pain you're having or specifically what part of your throat is sore?

If it feels like your throat is closing up from the sides, then you have a tonsil infection.
If it hurts more at the top or back of your throat, it's an infection of the pharynx, known as pharyngitis.
If your throat has a throbbing pain lower down, and you're beginning to sound croaky or husky, it'll probably be laryngitis.

If the pain is severe and you have swolen glands, you may be experiencing cervical lymphadenitis, an infection in your lymph nodes, which also affetcs your throat.

Is there a presence of mucus?? If so, you may have a chronic infection of the bronchial tree, therefore I suggest you see your GP so he prescribe you some medication.
Most probably Abbocilin, or some other penicilin based antibiotic.

As for lozenges for pain relief, Difflam are good, Strepsils with anesthetic are a dream, but also, try warm milk with a teaspoon of honey mixed into it.

My only other idea on what your problem could be, is that it might even be as bad Glandular Fever, commonly known as kissing disease.
As the name suggests, it is passed by swapping saliva with someone who already has the infection. It affects your glands, so that whenever your immune system is low, your glands are ineffective in fighting bacteria and you get sick. Sympoms are the same as a common cold, just worse.
Although the symptoms of Glandular Fever will last usually only 2 weeks, the infection can stay in your body for up to 7 years, with the symptoms recurring every 3 or four months, depending on how well you look after yourself.

Um Preniers... Look up what broncitis is... If you haven't got your tonsils out, thats a possibililty. Have someone check if they can see white pussy blisters on your tonsils, if you do, then go see your doctor and he'll give you some antibiotics if it isn't severe... But if you just have a really sore throat, I think its just tonsillitis.

I'm not a fan of the durries

Zinc supplements sound rather scary however  What the hell are they!

Zinc is just a vitamin or mineral one of those. MAybe even some echinacia or Bee Pollen but thats extremely expensive 100 buck a bottle but it works.

Just go to your local health store or chemist and look you'll see it

But I live in Wetherill Park, i don't think we have any chemists yet

Thanks for the indepth reply ANdy. I do brush regularly and gargle, so its not that. And I haven't sucked cok for at least 3 weeks

Anyways, the pain is lower down in the throat. It might be the last one then, perhaps i should get it checked out. Although the doctor said it was a result of me drinking too much caffine. Is that possible?

i might try the milk with honey though, sounds good! No muccus, so i dont think its that

Cheers,
Moffo
