I think i hate Reggae

Lying in bed the other nite listening to some radio station. They had some sort of Reggae hour thing goin on. I listened for a while and it dawned on me.... "GOD I HATE THIS SHIT" the repetative crap then bounced around in my head for the rest of the nite. And i dont mean in a "bird dance" kind of way where you cant stop whistling it. It tormented me constantly.

So then i thought "i'd better think back and find a reggae artist that was OK". But i could not, they all sound the bloody same.

Just had to get that off my chest..

I can say the same thing about Death Metal / Black Metal - it all sounds the same and the word hatred gets associated with it often in my life

Apart from the immortal Bob Marley, there are so many top artists... Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, Peter Tosh, Desmond Dekker, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers... whoa. Awesome reggae overload.

El Garbo - my mate was in the West Indies for the last cricket tour & said Reggae as we know it is all-but-gone.

It's all Ragga now - Glocks 'n Bitches, etc...

Yeah I've heard that its a disappearing art. A shame.. but then, that's music. Hair metal is a thing of the past too, but doesn't mean we can't listen and enjoy the artists of yesteryear.

but the sugarcubes did some great stuff

and although some of the stuff she does these days is appalling she is a kickass singer and some of the melodies are awesome
