If a Souths player did what Matai did they would be charged. Another incident Manly has gotten away with. Toovey should be fined you can't comment when a player is on report.

The judiciary must mainly go for Manly it's wrong.

What will they get away with next week?

Not if they were a burgii or Ingli$.
Those cretins get away with alot more than most

Funny how all manly haters will swear blue and black that was a shoulder charge, and Manly fans the opposite. Standard LU posting form I guess.

It's not that hard people...

Matai is one of my favourite players; that was most definitely a shoulder charge.

Hate Manly and Catai most of all. That wasn't a shoulder charge though. He hadn't turned side on and his arm wasn't tucked. If the contact was high that is the only thing in question. Well that and ho he didn't need to be stretchered off after the hit? Oh that's right, Catai is only ever plagued by his shoulder/neck when he makes an error. Still wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire, but that wasn't a shoulder charge.

There is no law against an intentional shoulder charge, just the sequence in which it is carried out, the result is named as such because a label is needed for something that can be deemed proven . . . you're not picking your nose if you pretend to rub a pimple

Its sad the way rugby league is today. Should be praising that hit, instead look at these keyboard geniuss. Its hard being number 1.

Looking down on the roosters at the moment. Haven't beaten us once this year either. Get with the times.

I hate how awesome hits like that are illegal.

^^^^ THIS

Mattai's hit - illegal or not was a f**king beauty
I was at the game (I took my kids to it) and said to a mate - he'll be in trouble for that

I am absolutely STOKED that he isn't

Now spread the love and extend the friendship to all NRL players

Go on judiciary - don't save all the love for Fultons babes. Let the other teams charge too. We love it.

Wasn't a shoulder charge. Big hit, good for the game. Play on.

Shoulder charges are what Sandow tried to lay on *unnamed Knights player* on the weekend that allowed a try though. Never an attempt to get arms involved.

I'm not a Manly fan, but there is no way that was a shoulder charge, it was just a f@#king awesome tackle and he should be applauded for it.

Seriously I am far from the smartest man in the world, but all they have to do is allow the shoulder charge but any contact with the head is an automatic 3-5 week penalty so players have to decide whether to take the risk. The fans will come back in droves (especially if they allow the biff to come back instead of the handbags at 10 paces that is currently occurring).

I don't see the NHL trying to sanitise their game because a couple of mums won't let their kids play ice hockey....NRL please get a grip on reality and listen to the fans.

f**k ME, the tackle was fine, it wasnt a shoulder charge nor was it high, it was a textbook big hit, Steve had both arms up, it was just a killer tackle.

All the NRL need do is pay Trevor Gillmeister to hold seminars at each club on the art of breaking ribs with a shoulder, no need to get within 500mm of concussion . . . except of course when the player hits the ground

OP is killing it with fail threads this year. Can he go back to back next year?

While I was pleased we got the penalty, I was impressed with the shot. DWZ got straight up to his credit as well.

What's my other "thread fail" this year?

Certainly not Penrith's draw. You're 1-5 vs the top 6.

Under the current rules Matai was very lucky to get off. No Manly fan with a vocabulary that fails to extend beyond "lol" will convince me otherwise.

Once again, failure.

From the comments I have read on here, there are people who downright loathe Manly and Matai and they are saying its a legitimate, good hit.

Now go and play in the sandpit with the other kids you dropkick.

Oh, and "lol" is all you're worth.

Yep, Draw thread. The teams 6 to 11 would be in the 8 had we not beaten them. It's been a fun thread I will give you that. But it is a massive fail based on its original intent. Your only backers would be Donkey2010 & Usain Bolt. Another fail in itself.
