I Was Just Rejected At ANZ Stadium Homebush Tonight

I always hear this trotted out, what exactly is wrong with it?
If transport wasn't such a pain I would jump at the chance to have every home game there intact if we were given a vote on it even with the shitty transport I'm not sure I wouldn't vote for SFS.

It's just old and run down. I'd vote for ANZ definitely.

Very cramped inside as walkways are too narrow. Floor is very old. Toilets are horrible. Walls are horrible. Seats are horrible. When I was at the Finals wk1 there was 2 seats in the row in front were broken and people had to sit on them. The seats are just hard and horrible. ANZ's seats are better.

Undercover seating is very scarce too compared to ANZ.

Merchandise stores look old.

It's just very drab and not a good feeling to be there.

I've probably missed more negatives too.

I still love how included the time wasted stealing the white banner itself as part of the list of complaints.
Absolute classic.

He always had a soft spot for souths!

You're just jealous!!

Anyone who deserted my club (which has been struggling for some time) to go and support the most supported club in the Country would receive nothing but howls of derision from me

To an English person, that is like giving up on say Southampton or Norwich and deciding to follow Manchester United

f**king spineless

Old and run down? Come on Rabs mate, Brookvale and Leichhardt are old and run down. The SFS is not.

The gaps between the seats are closer than at Homebush - this adds to the viewing experience because you're closer to the action

The floor is old? It's concrete. How can a concrete floor detract from your viewing experience? What sort of negative is that? Would you prefer they put in some nice linoleum for you?

Undercover seating is scare? At ANZ the only undercover areas are closed for 99% of games. Any seat for a Souths game would be exposed to the elements. The SFS would have more under cover seats per % of the crowd attending that ANZ. If you can find an undercover seat at ANZ, you're 7 miles from the pitch.

Merchandise stores feel old? You're scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Merchandise stores sell items fans might wish to buy. They're not part of the game day experience. I have never, even once in all the years I've been following Rugby League (or football) thought "there's only one point in the game and 3 minutes left..... right time to see if the paint in the merchandise area has a nice glossy sheen"

As for the "criticism" that public transport is not good. Central Station is less than a couple of kilometres away. Between Central and the SFS there are at least 15 pubs. If you can't enjoy the "walk" between Central and the SFS you're either a tee-totaller, physically disabled or lack any form of imagination

The SFS is hands down the best stadium in Sydney

As for your comment that you prefer the soulless dump that is ANZ over Suncorp, well now we know you are trolling. But at least you gave us all a giggle. Nice work :D

I prefer ANZ. I've been to Suncorp once and that is a better ground than ANZ, that's for sure.

Anyway you travel to the SFS is a pain.

At least at ANZ the train station is right there and the parking is better plus there is more parking than Allianz that's for sure.

ANZ is a bit isolated which is good.

Wrong!!!!!!

I said Suncorp is better than ANZ.

Lambretta your undercover seating argument is trolling.

I sit on Level 1 at ANZ undercover row 24.

There is lots of undercover on level 1 and also level 2.

ANZ has way more undercover than Allianz so you don't have a point there. Just trolling!!!!!!

alien is a lifelong wests and wests tigers fan who decided to go for Souffs the year they won the comp

I started supporting Souths in 2012. For years Wests Tigers treated the Magpies side of the joint venture like dirt, and favoured the Balmange side of the joint venture, and there was no end of it in sight, so they basically made me hate them. I definitely have no regrets in dumping that abomination of a joint venture, and supporting a real club! :)

The last time a st Brett thread got bumped it was locked by the mods, as should this one. His crap doesn't belong on these great forums.

"Great forums".

There was nothing wrong with him expressing his feelings on here about that stadium.

That's the key right there, you supported Souths during their more successful years leading up to the 2014 win when they were a "real club". Before that they were an "abomination". Would you have support the club with the same passion during the darker times? Circa 2002-2005(6)?

What if the clubs split (won't ever happen) and the magpies were back? Would you jump back?

I just find it hard to fathom walking away from a club which is part of me to support another. I couldn't even pretend to support another club. I don't even have a second club on the bye weekend!

Best thread ever.

He made a lot of funny threads. I tried to persuade him to come back to League Unlimited, but I think someone on here, or more than one person, really pissed him off. I'll let him know this thread got bumped. Maybe that will bring him back, but I doubt it.

This is not true. There are plenty of undercover seats at Souths games. For example, instead of sitting in Bay 110, I would just move to Bay 110-2. It isn't that far from the field. I can see just fine.

Not everyone drinks.

I honestly thought that level 2 was all Stadium membership seating and not available to general public. I did say as a percentage of the ground btw, rather than overall numbers but you're probably right. You're still miles from the action though as a result.

Anyway, it never rains at the SFS - it's a rule or something. I never get wet anyway, as the Roosters only have 5 fans and there are plenty of undercover seats for us all.

Even the Rabbits would be ok. Unless of course all your members showed up for once. Then you'd all get wet
