You will probably work out who I support now but I was there when:

* All 2005 finals games for the tigers. Saint's semi being the best game of the lot.
* Penrith Park in 2000 when wests lead 31-8 and managed to lose it
* Telstra Stadium in 2000 when wests lead the dogs 18-0 and Matt Sears couldn't catch a bomb to save his life, Wests go on to lose 36 - 26
* At Parramatta Stadium in 92 when cement Gillespie ended the carrer of Peter Sterling
* Campbelltown Stadium in 96 when Wests beat an all star Canberra team 24 -16 to go on and march into the semis
* Last round of this year against Newcastle and getting beat like they did, hearbreaking.

So many memories both good and bad but these ones really stand out for me.

One I forgot, 2006 tri-nations final, so many late chances from the Aussies, but nothing came of it, until JT bursts through and fires it onto Lockyer to score under the posts. Brilliant stuff.

This was followed by a 40 minute wait in the car park to get out.

2007 Round 10 vs. Knights - 71-6 Broncos. Biggest Bronco win ever.

Actually, Brisbane's biggest ever win was 76-0 against Halifax in 1997. Thought you would note that, seeing fans of Superleague teams were adamant it was a real comp they played in that year.

*My first ever away game I went to para stadium to see the saints take the eels on, all I remember was hearing the chant "PARRA" it as defening at the time, I was really young then.

*99 heartbreak

*all good memories of mundine and tingha cutting through defences and also in broken play.

*all the fights on the hill at kogarah oval when we played bulldogs

*anzac day test head kicking winner

*21-20 win over manly years ago, also the one in 2004 I think that was awseome.

92,93, 96 heartbreak and every other year

*last year semi dogs v broncos, was sitting with alot of mates that were dogs fans and they were so cocky, but the sadness in the second half you could feel it all over the stadium (except for the broncos)

*v storm in semis, I was happy for the first time we lost a game because we wouldn't have to put up with barret anymore.

and the last one is the biggest for me,

*Ian roberts KO ing a saints fan at kogarah and watching him walk away in the tunnel and the security jump on the KO'd guy

Cowboys v Broncos Semi Finals Week 2 2004 when The Cowboys won 10 - 0

(there are probably more but I CBF thinking at the moment)
That was the first one I thought of too. On the hill with Roo, Mad Dog and, I think, Beave (memory's a little hazy with time and through the alcoholic fog).

what sucked was the tuesday replay.

who was the idiot that thought tuesday was a good day for it?

it probably helped the younger saints side & i certainly can't whinge about the result!

I seem to remember it was the following week that they replayed the '77 GF.
I think you'll find that it was the following year that they replayed on the Tues, when Manly defeated Cronulla

I wasn't there - but I'll never forget how News Limited urinated on the game's traditions, tried to destroy Souths and Norths - and how the clubs and management allowed it to happen.

That was actually the WCC competition; not the SuperLeague comp. ;-)

Either way this thread is about moments you'll never forget; and I'll never forget being there for the 71-6 game against the Knights. :D

This is where Knightmare makes a comeback and says "Against a 2nd rate Knights side". :p

From 2003:

Penrith v Parra, final round: ground record, and secured the minor premiership.

Penrith v Brisbane, home final: the one defining memory is Girdler's intercept try.

Penrith v Warriors, preliminary final: we qualified for the grand final. The scenes after full time were just extraordinary.

Others:

Penrith v Bulldogs, Penith Stadium, 2004: the best game I have ever seen at Penrith. We lost a few before the match, and also during, but still fought back from a sizeable Doggies lead to win it in the dying stages.

Penrith v Bulldogs, preliminary final, 2004: One I don't really want to talk about!

Origin 2, 2005: Johns' come back game, a full house at Telstra, and a Blues win.

Cronulla v Penrith, 2006: Came back from the dead to defeat the Sharks at Toyota Park, and keep our very, very slim finals chances alive.

2003 Rabbits v Warriors Golden Point win, Stacey knocks one over from 45 out to win it. We were 24-6 down with about 20 to go. We score one try through Brent Webb I think, and then the best try... Paleaaasina off the kick off, charges at them, swerves around them, beats them all... up to the 40... up over the 50... 40 to go, draws the fullback, sends Toopi under the sticks. I think that might have been another Tedro Lyons exhibition too. Deadset, that merkin is biased as against NZ teams.

Oh Lord. That game after the Paul Stringer game was enough to send a bloke to an early grave. As you said we were up 24-6, then forgot how to tackle and 15 minutes later we were down 30-24. Managed to score a try near the end and force it to extra time. Then the Warriors get the first set, get to just over halfway and Stacey Jones drills the best field goal you'll ever see. From 40m+ out and went about 20 rows back into the grandstand. Couldn't believe it. I think I sat there silently for about 5 minutes afterwards.

Some others I remember:

1994 Souths v Broncos - Tooheys Challenge Final - I wasn't there, but remember vividly watching it on TV with my old man. We went absolutely nuts when Craig Field potted over the field goal to seal the win. Biggest upset in a long, long time.

1996 Souths v South Queensland @ Redfern - Last game at Redfern Oval, with a big 48-16 win. Remember the crowd chanting "we want 50". Great stuff.

1999 Souths v Cronulla @ SFS - That Craig Wing try. Best individual effort I've seen by a player in Souths colours.

1999 Souths v St George Illawarra @ SCG - fantastic game, fantastic win. Lee Hookey's no look flick pass to a flying Craig Wing to score in the corner.

1999 Souths v Canterbury - Ricky Stuart kicks a field goal from about 50m that hits the cross bar and goes over to steal a win from us 19-18. Couldn't believe it!

1999 - Forget the two games, but when Mark Carroll knocked the Lomax brothers out in consecutive weeks, both from the first tackle of the game.

1999 - Not a game, but remember when I heard on the radio that Dally M Medal leader Darrell Trindall got 7 weeks for a love tap on the chin that would be "penalty sufficient" these days. It was then I thought that the NRL are out to get us.

2000 Souths v USA @ Redfern - Fantastic atmosphere. 20,000 odd people crammed into the ground. Fantastic atmosphere. Won 80-odd to 6 or something. Crowd went nuts when (I forget his name) sung the 'alternate' version of Glory Glory - about mergers, etc. Billy Moore scored a good try for us.

2000 Souths v Lebanon @ Redfern - The following week was another game at Redfern, slightly smaller crowd but same carnival atmosphere. Most vivid memory I have is of some 16 year old kid absolutely carving up for Souths (scored a couple of good tries I think). That kid was Nathan Merritt.

2002 Souths v Roosters @ SFS - Our first game since re-instatement. The noise at the SFS was deafening.

2002 Souths v Canberra @ Bruce - Our first win since re-instatement. Owen Craigie and Blane Stanely put on a clinic (oh how times have changed). Brent Grose scores a fantastic team try.

2003 Souths v Broncos @ SFS - The Paul Stringer strip. Worst loss ever - up until the Warriors game this year.

2005 Souths v Roosters @ SFS - Many reasons. Our last home game at the SFS. The unveiling of the "forever in our shadow" banner as the teams ran out. The Ben Walker field goal. First victory over the Roosters in 11 years. Luke Stuart's desperate cover-tackle right on full time to save the game. Magic stuff.

2005 Souths v Wests Tigers @ Leichhardt - Crap result, but one of the best atmosphere's to a footy game I've been too. Also remember it took me 2 hrs, 30 minutes to get home (normally 30 min drive).

2005 Souths v Cronulla @ Shark Park - Last game of the year. Won to give the Knights the spoon. John Sutton dominated the whole 80mins - thought to myself, we've got a future Kangaroo here. Time will tell.

2007 Souths v Parramatta @ Telstra - Fantastic Nathan Merritt try. Asotasi's hit. Great stuff.

2007 Souths v Wests Tigers @ Leichhardt - Smashing the Tigers and all but ensuring our place in the semi-final was a great feeling.
