"I will never forget..."

Not sure if this idea for a thread has cropped up before...

Basically the premise is (and I hope this takes off) to talk about, discuss or just list moments in your life you will never forget, however short or long that life has been. Happy, sad, tragic, monumental, historic, personal, impersonal, an accomplishment, seeing something you love, births/deaths whatever. Standout moments in your life. Hell, even footy games

Never forget the first time I saw AC/DC live in concert. Mind-f**king-blowing.

Never forget the time that someone told me to listen to Lamb Of God. I owe them big time.

I'll also never forget our 74-4 win over Cronulla. My mates and I were sitting in the very front row and were yelling out, "Number 5!" every time Matthew Rieck got near the action.

Also, Cayless made a superb 60-metre run for a try, Peachey got sent off and some fool got binned. All this, after they scored first and thought they'd go on with it.

I'll kick it off...

- Snow Patrol performing last weekend. The sensational guitar work in the final climax of the song is simply incredible and to see it live was brilliant. A moment musically for me that I think could only be matched by seeing Coldplay perform "Fix You" live.

- Within the space of two hours seeing Daniel Johns play the guitar with his teeth and then Powderfinger performing an acoustic version of Sunsets... both within 5 metres of me.

- July 2005. I lost my Grandmother on Sunday, Dad left to go on an Ashes Tour on the Tuesday (Grandmother's dying wish, a lifelong dream for dad), funeral Thursday and then graduating Friday from my college course. Considering part of the diploma was to event manage the graduation... a bit of a full on time and one I can remember almost minute by minute.

- Grand Final 2004. Hugging so many random strangers, coming close enough to high-five SBW and Anasta. Erasing the pain of the 2002 craziness. A blur, but one I've never forgotten.

- Predictable, but the final walk from school... in fact the entire final day (now 4 years ago) is still there in my head. The walk sticks out though, all the students flanking us on the way out with teachers dotted along all crying. Way too many girls and guys getting teary sorta got emotional.

- The 1998 Prelim. I was in Canberra with family friends, only 12 at the time. I remember running back and forward to the car and listening to the radio. I was getting out to give up the ghost with I think 9 or 8 to go and down 18-2 when we scored, and kept running back and forward telling dad about it all.

I will never forget the first time the old man took me and a bunch of my mates to Shark Park. It was rain drenched on family hill and we all sat under the tarp...

To be honest, sending Peachey off was a ridiculous decision. But at the time, we were having so much fun...

Honestly - I have nothing against the Sharks.

- Waking up from a coma to have the gayest ma in the universe tell me i was looking better than when they bought me into the ICU.

- The feeling when the siren went at last years Grand Final. I never, ever want to feel that bad.

- When Dave Kidwell hugged me after the GF. I cried. A lot.

- Nearly fainting at my Grans funeral. 2 months later i was diagnose with diabetes.

- The first time i did my own needle. Was my dads birthday. I was 9.

- I used to have this doll i took with me everywhere. One day we went shopping and i'd left her at home. Well, dad had to drive the half an hour each way to get 'baby' or i wouldn't move.

- My 18th birthday. My friend threw me a surprise party. I had no idea.

- A party i had in year 9. Who would have though 50-odd 14 year olds could drink so much?

- The first time i saw Dashboard. The most amazing experience being in that room with every single person singing along with every lyric. I get chills just thinking about it.

- The feeling of winning my 200m heat in a state inter-school comp when i was 11. I did my knee 2 weeks later. Who knows what could have happened if i hadn't fallen.

That's all i can think of for now.

At least your team was competitive for 80 minutes last year, and will, in all likelihood, win the title this year.

The Eels, however...Until we get rid of certain players, we'll never win the damned thing.

Also - our 2005 exit from the Finals, to me, was worse than the 2001 Grand Final. To think we would have played the Tigers in the decider - a team who we had the wood on...And we blew it...

Still - being an Eels fan is easier than being an Oakland fan, that's for sure.

2007

last game of the season in reserve grade for the forbes magpies, we already had the wooden spoon wrapped up and had to play Dubbo Cyms (they needed to win the game for the minor premiership)

they would have come over thinking it would have been a walk in the park.. at halftime the score was nil all but in the second half they got away to a lead but we came from behind and beat them 20-14

it was pretty special since it was a home game for us aswell

best moment of my life ever. considering it was only my first season of league aswell.

scoring a try in my first game (against Wellington) was pretty good too
