Long and Burrow arent halfbacks. They are just small players that cant tackle, kick or pass.

As for McGuire, he is a 5/8th!

oh so by your argument LF...kimmorley, t smith, withers, monaghan, jones etc arent good halfbacks cause they're small...?? and dont give me the BS that Long/burrow cant pass or kick, who was GB's halfback for last years Tri-Nations....it was Long, and if you have bothered to watch SL, you would have noticed that burrow is a handy player ...he is keeping McGuire out of the starting line-up, now that is telling you something...:-k :-k

LF, i've seen the other stupid arguments that you've put up on this forum and it just seems that you were just born stupid...

Your using last years Tri Series to try and prove a point that Sean Long is a good halfback!

He is so good some GB fans are holding off buying tickets incase Brian Noble names him as the halfback again.

And....dont get to far ahead of yourself. I said Burrow, Long and McGuire wernt halfbacks. I didnt name any of the actual halfback you put in your post.

The fact is Britain hasnt produced a real halfback in well over a decade. Thats an opinion thats has been supported by most posters on RLFans in recent months.

The arrogance of the average Australian rugby league supporter is quite staggering.

I will admit that we do not have the strength in depth in England that there is in Australia, but the top teams in Super League are every bit as good as teams in the NRL. For example is there a backline in the NRL to match St Helens? I doubt it very much. Lyon and Albert would be the 1st choice centre-wing partnership for the Roos were it not for the (Probably illegal) decision to not pick non-NRL players. Other players such as Keiron Cunningham, (who despite what nospam49 says is still the worlds best hooker), Paul Sculthorpe, Stuart Fielden, Jamie Peacock, Keith Senior etc etc would be amongst the top in their positions in the NRL. Also bear in mind the players who return from Super League to the NRL seem like better players than when they left. Danny Nutley top ratings every week, Langer walked into an Origin match and bossed it after 2 years in the wildnerness of Super League. How could that happen if the imaginary gap was as wide as you lot think?

The truth is that the only problem with Super League is the number of non-British players. The fact that most teams can import 4 or 5 Kiwis/Aussies from the NRL for cheaper than they can sign British players will always hurt our national side's performances. But having world class players like Jamie Lyon on show every week makes up for that.

And remember who is winning the Junior games over the last couple of years, for the first time ever. [Clue for those who haven't noticed - It isn't Australia]

the comparison fits, Pele dogged it from the toughest leagues in the world just as Lyon is doing now.

Pele didn't dog it. I believe he wasn't allowed to leave the Brazilian league. Deemed too important or something like that. Obviously things have changed since then.

And Farleigh_Good is right. Its amazing how many people here love taking the piss out of the Super League (without good reason) yet at the same time would love to see quality international football!

And if the Aussies sides won thw WCC more often im sure you wouldnt be calling it a joke.

Lyon, i'll give you (even though Sonny Bill Williams made him his bitch in his very first game), but Albert? Learn to f**king type. Albert wouldn't even make the NSW Country team right now.

He _may_ just squeeze into the top 5 hookers in the world, but he's not half the player of any of the following people: Buderus, Smith, Wing, Priddis. Having said that, both Gower and Johns can play hooker better than him at a pinch.

I'd akin Cunningham to a less clever version of Riddell. A big fat ugly f**ker who can pass a little and plays as an extra backrower.

Jamie Peacock ... Paul Sculthorpe

 You live in a fantasy land. With the quality we have in the backrow (by far the most competitive position in the NRL), do you really think Sculthorpe or Peacock would even rate a mention? Off the top of my head, Fitzgibbon, Ricketson, Topou, Simpson, Hindmarsh, Ryan, Crocker, Johnson, Hoffman, Menzies, Kennedy, Watmough, Williams, Harrison and Morrison would all be rated higher than either of those two. Won't even mention the juniors coming through in the backrow. More I think about it, I reckon we could get make an Australian team of backrowers which would beat a full strength Great Britain team, simply because we have so many bullsh*t players there.

Oh yeah, you forgot Andrew Farrell, the Golden Boot winner for the best player in the world last year. He'd dominate in the NRL too! How's he going in union anyways?

Stuart Fielden,

Not much to argue with there, he is a quality player. Not better than any of the Australians who represent, but not far off the pace either.

 Allan Langer came back as a better player, did he? Hahaha. Langer was able to come back and play good because he's an exception, rather than the rule.

You can continue to dream about the ESL being as strong a competition as ours, but whilst hidings are dished out each and every week, our rejects continue to dominate your competition and our Kangaroos (Often times minus our best players) give it to your Lions time and time again, it simply won't be the case. The Queensland Cup is of a higher standard than the ESL.

Hoffman and Johnson better than Peacock and Sculthorpe LOLOLOLOLOL

You know just because they're British, Bluesbreaker, doesnt mean they're sh!t. Why on earth do you make the assumption that because they play in the ESL they must be nowhere near the best in the world and that there is atleast 10 players better in Australia. It smacks of insecurity.

You know, they were the only two I thought twice about! Funny that. Anywho, I still included them because they played really good at the start of the season for the Storm, better than i've seen either Peacock or Sculthorpe play. Insecurity? Please. I don't really give a sh*t about where good players come from, it's just funny when someone comes on here and tells me, despite all evidence to the contrary, how great a competition the ESL is. I watch it, I can see what it's like.

I'll tell you what really sucks about the English though, their cricket team, have to agree wouldn't ya Tommy? ;)

And anyways, try to deny that we don't have 10 better backrowers than those two, or that we don't have at least 5 better props than Fielden, or that we don't have 20 better wingers than Albert
