its a shame to see them falling apart again as a squad - i know they're understrength, but that's more a worrying sign for the (apparent) depth in english cricket

im a passionate aussie supporter through and through - but i was really glad to see us being pushed and the resurgence of the poms, it was great for the game - i only hope they improve again, especially in time for this summer to make it competitive

Meh, we've always been an attrocious one-day side. Especially so right now without Trescothick, Vaughan and Freddy & Jones not bowling.

Was pretty pleased with us taking six wickets in the end, considering the low target we set for India. Need massive improvement for Saturday. Can't wait for that match.

Confident Ponting ups the ante - and loses

Australia lost its final Champions Trophy warm-up game in Mumbai overnight after captain Ricky Ponting opted to make life difficult for his own batsmen.
Chasing a total of 218 against a Mumbai XI side, Ponting decided to revise the target to 300 to give his batsmen more practice.
Australia fell just eight runs short of victory, finishing at 9 for 292 off 50 overs.
Adam Gilchrist top-scored for Australia with 61 while Ponting made 55 and Damien Martyn added 54.
The home side had made 8 for 218 of its 50 overs, with all-rounder Shane Watson taking 3 for 42 off eight overs.

It was a practice match, it doesnt really matter

Just wondering how Parraboy's conclusion came up with Hogg's name and not Watto's!

Better performance overall. Sure, Watson got 3 wickets but he was very expensive.
