Ideas for new sharks song

Okay folks !

we all love " UP UP CRONULLA" but I see a need for another Sharks song, something different to UP UP CRONULLA, perhaps something that the CSSC can make their own and intermix with UP UP CRONULLA during games.

What would be great is if in this thread, everyone can outline what it is that they think of when they think of our team. Why did you become a sharks fan ? what things first come to mind when someone says CRONULLA SHARKS, what images are stirred , what gets your spine tingling with pride.

Negative stuff can go and get f**ked, plenty of other threads for that .

Things that stir me when someone asks why I love the sharks are :-

It was the club my dad followed from before the sharks were born thru it's inception.

It's the club of my birthplace.

I was thinking to the tune of "Great Southern Land" by Icehouse with the same chorus? I think that's kinda cool?

Well beeker, how good are you as a lyricist.

There's an old Split Enz song called Shark Attack which just might have an upbeat enough tune to fit the bill.

Someone would have to rework the lyrics though

Mate I can place the tune myself but it sounds like a super prospect. The lyrics won't be a problem really, that's why gettting peoples ideas, key words , images is important.

Up Up CRONULLA IS a great song special and will never be retired ! infact UP UP CRONULLA will get a go in the new tune too !

Wouldn't need too much reworking of the lyrics, and everyone clapping along to that beat, even in the middle 8, would sound great ! And probably a bit better known that Shark Attack.

Fins to the Left!! Fins to the right!! and so on and so forth from the Jimmy buffet song .Called "Fins" I think! I prefer the song "Why dont we get drunk" from same Album , but "Fins" probably more appropriate

great idea

but borrow a tip from the best at this sort of stuff - the brits

keep it real simple - take a very well known, easily sung /shouted tune and drop in a new chorus.

it's basically like pop music today - the simpler the better. this applies moreso to our situation because we have no real heritage of singing at rl in australia so we need to make it as accessible to first-timers as possible
