Idris suffers season ending injury

Penrith centre Jamal Idris is out for the season after tearing his ACL on Saturday night against Manly.
Idris injured his right knee in the 55th minute of his side's 22-12 victory over the Sea Eagles at Pepper Stadium when he slid underneath a Steve Matai tackle.
It is a big blow to the Panthers who were already struggling on the injury front with Peter Wallace expected to undergo surgery and Elijah Taylor also expected to be out for an extended amount of time.
Five-eighth Jamie Soward continutes to recover from lower back surgery and is not expected back for another week.

These injuries are a joke. We get so many injuries and they're always long term. Usually to important players aswell. We could have been a genuine premiership threat last season with a healthy squad, and we were counting on a healthy squad this season giving us another crack.

I think we have had an even worse run with injuries then we did last season. We're definitely worse off then we were at the same point.

Did playing Idris on the weekend when he was in doubt contribute to his injury being so severe? Or would it have happened if he was 100% or not? I would hate to think we chose to play Idris when he was struggling for fitness ahead of a George or Robert Jennings and that decision has cost him the season.

Should be back. Only one more week without Sowie is possible but I didnt realise Wallace was serious.

Moss, Mansour, Idris, Whare, Soward, Wallace, Seg, Plum, Brown, BMM, Taylor

Prop and a wing short of a decent side missing this year already.

I certainly hope soward is back really soon but maybe in the mean time john, koroisau, Moylan and segs will be able to each handle the pressure and provide some attacking flair so once soward returns we don't just let our attack hinge solely on him and Moylan's combination

Maybe check Ronnies histroy before you started blaming him. If he is causing injuries here you would think it would show up at his previous clubs as well.

I have no opinon but if he was bad at his job you think someone would of worked him out in the decades he has been employed at the top level.

I know it's not looking good for him so far, but I would wait for MRi scan results. Seen it to many times where it looks worse then it really is.

the current system isn't working and that much is perfectly clear

Maybe its not working, its certainly not clear why. You cant just sack him and the whole medical staff, they'd be talking to lawyers straight up if you fired them and said "Look how many injuries we have" lol.

The biggest worry about Jamal getting a season ender will be his desire to come back. It wouldnt surprise me if he goes and sits on a mountain in Tibet to rehabilitate & doesnt come back. I dont mean that as a slight either, I think thats just how he rolls.
