If I could be there on Friday night in the dressing rooms I would have a few things to say.

I have the greatest feeling about this game on Friday. This game can really shuv it into the NRL's face that Wests Tigers are the greatest team in the NRL.

If i was in the sheds before the boys ran out, I would say this:

Sons of Balmain, of Ashfield, of Campbeltown, my brothers,
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of us fails,
when we forsake our supporters
and break all bonds of sportsmanship,
but it is not this day.
An hour of sin-bins and weeks suspended,
when the age of Wests Tigers comes crashing down,
but it is not this day!

This day we fight!

For all that you hold dear on this great ground,
I bid you stand, Men of the Wests!!

English poetry essay due tomorrow morning for school?

Nah mate, just kidding. Well said. I Hope Sheens psych's them up big time. It seems to me when they take the field they sort of lack aggression in some facets of play. I know Sheens is a tactician. He's a number's man. Knows the game inside and out. Coaches like Junior, Tommy, Masters, Lamb were all motivators, and knew how to rev up the boys. I'm hoping Royce gives them a nice big blast before they go out and do battle with the Chooks, he seems to be of that motivating era of coaching...

LOL.... :lol: :lol: :lol: english poetry.
It does look kinda shakespearish....not that Ive read any of his stuff.

Some heart thumping, eyelid twitching topnotch motivation wouldnt go astray on friday though.
Id be pushing the "recover lost pride after 50-0 flogging" speech.

Come hither, glorious warriors of the west,
and let us plunder the spoils from fools of the east.

Best I've got.. :?

Remember when Junior showed the Balmain side 'Rocky II' before we played the Broncos in 1998, and we drew? That was a gutsy performance.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
but make allowance for their doubting too,

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating
And yet not look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - but not make dreams your master,
If you can think - but not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build them up with worn-out tools

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on, when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings, yet not lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run
Yours is the Earth and everything in it,
And, what is more, you’ll be a Man, my son!

I love it. Makes me want to come out of retirement and get my boots back on… No, bugger it, I will play without boots.
