I love all this. If Melbourne are going to win the comp then they are going to win it and there's nothing that can be done to stop them. Just like the Tigers and the Panthers of recent years everyone kept on saying why they couldn't win it and they still won. This makes me want the Storm to win even more badly.

yeh but i wouldnt be taking parra lightly imo they remind me so much of us last year winniong 8 in a row than loses there last 2 before the finals

And in 95 Manly and Canberra both bowed out to the bulldogs

At least storm should follow the trend they have set in the last few years of finals by winning in the 1st week. The bonus of that is that they will get a big jump over the 2nd week hurdle that always seems to kill them. Brisbane are 3rd again, can they get over their recent week 1 hoodoo at suncorp? maybe the fact that they dont have to play storm will help

I think the fact they're in form will help more.

nup. in 01 the Eels lost 4 and the Dogs only lost 6. Newcastle were leading the comp and then Johns got injured and they lost about 8 games. When he returned they started thumping teams again.

Finally someone gets it. When Johns was playing at Marathon, we smashed Parra. They had no chance.

Melbourne won more games this year than the '01 eels and the MP by a bigger margin. This would be the biggest choke if they don't go on with it now.

No, Melbourne won the same amount of games as Parra in 2001 (20) we've lost the same amount of games as you did (4) and you had 2 draws when they played 26 games in that year not 24 like now.

Your for and against was 403 (+849, -406) and that was 248 more than your nearest rival. While ours this year is 201 (+605, -404) As you can see you absolutely dominated in that department compared to us this year as you can see.

Yes you finished as MP 5 points clear of the Dogs and we finished 8 points clear, but you also finished 9 points clear of the third placed team which was the one that beat you in the GF. Going by all that, IF the Storm don't take out the title i still think it's pretty clear the Parra will hold the biggest choking title ;-)

I actually reckon that the eels will give the storm a good contest this weekend and may actually beat them.
Dont be suprised.

which do you foresee.....

*a fatal bus crash resulting in only 2 storm players taking the field, leading to parra winning 10 - 8

*the storm forfeiting the fixture out of pity

*the storm forgetting they have the home final & rocking up to sydney?

Im very confident of a Parra win, forget our last 2 games it will be a different side this week mentally, i think we wen't off a little after we were assured of a top 8 spot, add to that, Vella & Cayless are huge bonuses for us, they are the missing links to our side.

Bahahahahaha

Gold. In all honesty, if the Storm play at even 75%, the injured Eels will not be any threat to them.

They need Jeremy Smith back, Cayless, and a clone of Hindmarsh. That would give them a comfortable win. (or just 2 clones of Hindmarsh and forget Cayless).

probably.

but the tiges weren't beset with the injury problems the eels currently are.

the eels have done well to turn their season around - that took character.

it's just a shame that injuries & tiredness look like terminating their season (and the storm of course.)
