What about after weeks rest do we play 5 or 8 or 6 or 7 winners ?

Last year the winner of the quarter final played 6/7/the loser of 2 v 3.

Too many games to play out. But my guess is Dogs keep 5th and win week 1. I also think Sharks stay 4th and lose week 1 to the Storm.

Sharks/Dogs v Penrith in a prelim. Again dependent on a number of results.

Sharks have a 68 point differential to the Dogs currently, Cows are 151 - so you can count out the Cows nabbing 4th spot.

Dogs would need to pump the Cows and then hope Manly pump Cronulla to make up that 68 point differential. based off that i cant really see Cronulla losing 4th place - but stranger things have happened.

Roosters have 65 point differential on Sharks - so if both Roosters & Sharks win, Cronulla need to win by 66 points more than what the Roosters win by to finish above the Roosters.(extremely unlikely)

Sharks will be praying the bunnies upset the Chooks to be ahead on the ladder and also hope Titans upset Penrith to nab 2nd spot and a home final.

Its likely to be Storm v Sharks & Panthers v Roosters round 1 - NRL will want this result (hello referees :p) as they are good rivalries and previous GF matches.

Storm v Roosters is a good matchup but Penrith v Cronulla rivalry has nothing on Penrith v Roosters. (side note - id love to smash the Roosters by a cricket score when given the chance)

5-8 games no point discussing matchups for week 1 & 2 until Round 27 is done this weekend.

Loser of Dogs/Cows game will want Manly to lose so they get a hope final in week 1, if Manly win they get a home final as differential is better than Cows

Knights v Dolphins sorts out 8th spot - the winner of Dragons v Raiders will be praying the Knights Dolphins game ends in a draw after Golden point as they will finish on 30 and the Knights/Dolphins finish 29 points

Cronulla have won one final match since 2016 they beat us 21-20 in 2018 (they won the GF in 2016). Ashley K was ref and was played at Allianz. Wonder why we even turned up.

Moylan tore us apart and Jimmy Frauds was the worst player on the field. Wasn't an enjoyable game to be at sitting next to my Sharkie brother in law

2 players from that Sharks team that night would go on to win premierships with us.
Capewell and Sorrenson.

At home to an injury battered Roosters or an inconsistent Sharks is about as good a matchup as you can hope for in week 1.

This seems the most likely outcome, with Storm/Roosters the other prelim. I do think Roosters are good enough to get past the winner of 6/7, Manly or Cows most likely, although with Manly you just never know.
