If you could change ONE rule, what would it be?

Hows this sound?

Golden Try - As the name suggests, a Try during extra time would win the game for the scorer.

Field Goals, & Penalty Goals do count in Extra time - but do not stop the game. Should neither team score a try during extra time, highest scorer wins.

Basically its like the old extra time rule in League (10mins each way), but a try trumps all scoring - and automatically wins the game.
It'd be a bit rough if one team gives away three or four penalty goals to stop opposition trys and then scores a golden try in the last minute to win the match by -2 or -4.

10 in the bin if you are placed on report.
More often than not the player gets suspended and this doesnt benifit the team they are playing only who they are playing in coming weeks.

Benefit of the doubt should go to the defending team.
Yep, it's always struck me as weird that the benefit doesn't work to maintain the current state of the game. It seems the exact opposite to the way the benefit works in cricket. Close enough is not good enough in that game whereas it is in League. Just doesn't seem right - IMHO anyway.

When teams kick downtown, anyone in front of the kicker should have to stop and retire to the position they were at when the kick was put through until passed by an onside player. This would have the effect of the chasing line being less suffocating, opening opportunities for kick returns and lessening the value of kicking, thereby forcing teams to run it more.

the one rule i would like to see changed is if you are defending and you hold a player up over the try line what ever the tackle count is you get the reward of a 20m tap restart for your defence, may also change attacking teams going from dummy half for a try so much and wasting the opportunity of attacking,i would rather see a try scored with a few passes or a set play rather than a player diving over from dummy half, this would make the dummy half think about diving over unless he was %100 sure of scoring, and more entertaing for us fans

How about, trys scored by gingers should all be disallowed.

When playing against the warriors, you will get penalised if you dont knock out one of Jerome Ropatis teeth whilst tackling him.

The reason the downtown rule exists is to keep the game flowing by rewarding kicking team for keeping the ball in the play. Teams won't stop kicking on the fifth, they'll just go back to the old tactic of kicking it into touch (like Union). Game stops for 30 seconds while a scrum is formed - after every set of six. Just because you can't put as good a chase on a kick doesn't make the kick any less the safer territorial option on the fifth compared to getting caught with the ball in your own half. It just changes where you kick it.
