Watching the NBA draft the mut got curious. What would happen if we had the same thing in place in the NRL?

Would you prefer SBW or Tim Smith or Jarrod Mullen at your club?

We all know about SBW. Great talent but how much footy will we see from him? How much will injury curtail his career?

Tim Smith is consistant, young and a great prospect. But is he another Paul Green, Matt Rodwell or Brett Firman? Great start but nothing after the first few years?

The mut threw in Mullen too. Being touted as the next Brad Fitler but at such a young age (18) there is an unknown aspect to this kid. Would you take the risk? Will he live up to expectation?

Your club can only take one and you must take them now! What is your choice?

Woooo! Get some mut up yarse!

Tim Smith
atm i wouldnt take any, SBW is a gun but is too brittle, Mullen hasnt showed me anything that stands him out amongst the rest while Tim Smith is gonna be a very very special player, but im happy with the blokes we got coming through the ranks in his position :D

Sutton! The mut forgot about him. Should be included but the mut cant change the poll. Fine player.

Correct. He can hit hard in defence, run to the line, get an offload away, has a good passing game, nice step, good short kicking game, decent long kicking game, and is a goalkicker.

If Souths nurture his development the right way, let him make mistakes, try and take pressure of him.. he could be anything.

Sutton 2 years older than Mullen. That's the reason why the mut has put Mullen in the poll. Would you take the risk that in the next 2 years he would be as good or better then the others named?

Sutton should be included and muts mistake for leaving him out. He still would not be the muts choice with Smith available however.

That's your choice then, but I ask you this, would Tim Smith be going as good as Sutton is if he played for Souths?

P.S. Do you always talk about yourself in 3rd person?

Mut always does speak in third person. Good point by yourself too. Sutton has excelled in a poor team.

But by the same token Mullen has also, not to the same level of Sutton but bear in mind Sutton has 2 years growing ahead of Mullen.

The reason the mut goes with Smith is because like Johns he seems to make the players around him play better. Look at Morris, and the tries that Grothe has scored through him.

Thats something that you cannot find in most players. Smith at this stage of his career is havingmore of an impact of the league than Johns did at his same age, and if Johns can get Gidley and Hughes up the playing origin i hazard to guess who Smith can propel up there.

Sutton does not display this neither does SBW. They are great individuals, and Mullen, time shall tell.

Mullen???

I'd choose Smith. SBW is clearly a greater footballing talent, but halfback is your priority position.

Should have put in the whole lot - Soward, Marshall and Hunt.

Of those 3 I'd have to take Williams. He's proven that injury free he will be the next superstar. I imagine he would be a great help in attracting players to the club as well.

not to mention Bott, among the top tryscorers in his first season should count for something.

Out of those three though Smith easily

Really tough one. Depends what resources you have at your club. At Canberra we have Carney, Zillman, Herbert and Dobson who have all played junior rep footy as halves.

I would go for SBW.

yeah I agree with gregstar, especially after what the Dragons went through when a bloke called Brett Firman debuted for the Dragons.

I am a Parra fan and love what Tim has done this year. But if Sonny Bill can get over his injury problems, can you beat a big quick offloading forward of his quality for any club. I think it is like a lot of people have said " we will have to wait and see"
