disgusting display shown by the ref, some 50/50 calls went new zealands way, could the fkn all blacks get any luckier, how the hell is a team supposed to win conceding 13 penalties and have 27% pocession??? geez the AB's can consider themselves very lucky, because even thougn im south african and showing bias, they didnt dersrve to win at all, Boks defneded theyre hearts out and can consider themselves lucky, but anywayz i guess i must congrad AB's, watch out australia, and NZ...see ya in south africa.....

The only reason we didnt score anymore tries, was because you guys keeped on giving stupied penlties away...everytime we were on the attack you guys infringed.....Im glad you lost....boring game...70% you guys were off side....thought the up in front dfence was good...if the AB's can get it to the wings they will score easy tries.....

I think Aussie will still beat them....ONLY if they keep on giving away silly penlties....

I honestly didnt think the Referee was that bad...how many times to South African kick the ball from outside his 22 on the full and they played on?!?

Ridiculous comment.

The Boks were offside all night...they were lucky that one of them didn't end up in the bin.

If the Boks push the line and get away with it, good on them. But to suggest that the Boks were hard done by as a result of referee Cole's liberal interpretation of the law is ludicrous. If anything, they were the benefactors.

The Boks looked good...they will push Aussie next week and, if they win, will be a chance for the trophy

The Boks are extreemly advantaged to be playing us in Perth where the crowds will be nowhere near as parochial as they'd have been in Sydney or Brisbane.

I thought the game was pretty crap. The ABs should never have let that first try happen, that was a poor display and further proves that Byron is the man that should be at halfback. South Africa were putting the pressure on, but they did a pretty bad job of doing it legitimetly - the constant offsides were really starting to get me annoyed. I was annoyed to see that Jerry Collins didn't put on any big hits - I would have loved to have seen Percy Motgomery get that smile whiped off his face by a Jerry Collins tackle.

Overall, a poor game from the ABs, i'm going to be expecting better from them next time. Good to get the win, but it is arguable that they deserved it.....

And to South Africa - STAY ONSIDE!

Lot of South Africans live in WA too and it would be a short plane trip from SA too.

The result goes to show what is wrong with Union. Too many penalties decide most games, penalties are worth 3 points, the refs are sub standard and who gets a penalty in a lot of cases is a lottery.

How a team that scores 3 tries to 1 loses is a joke.

yea you laugh at it then you clown

the boks used the 10 mtr infringement as a tactic, part of their game plan. it very nearly worked for them.

the AB,s have got a bit to do in the midfeild. i thought carter was the weak link and the team gained some go forward when byron and sam tuitupo (sp) came on.

that game will have done the boks the world of good and i predict a 20+ point flogging of the wannabies in perf next week.

what about sommerville ? is the guy tough or what ?

The infringing spingboks should of had about 3 players in the bin. The end result was justified with all the disruptions the boks were causing

I think if the Yarpies hadn't infringed so much with blatant offsides (c'mon - don't blame the ref, infact, actually I do because he gave Shalk Burger HOW many warnings for the same infringement but failed to use the yellow card - pathetic), the All Blacks would have scored more tries. Their second try as it was came from a blatant forward pass right at the end. Every time the All Blacks were hot on attack, one of those overweight Yarpies would squash the ball with their rotunder. Or, if there was an overlap, a yarpie would stand 6 metres offside and prevent the ball getting to Howlett and Rockocoko. Eventually the ABs got with the ill disciplined game plan of the South Africans, kept the ball in hand 15 sets until the Yarpies couldn't infringe anymore and what do you know, they score.

Its sad that we get heartbroken for a team of ill disciplined, cheating geese when their adventure into criminology fails to pay off thanks to a resilient, yet rattled, 80 minute game. I'm more heart broken Cole forgot about the yellow card.

I still think the All Blacks will learn more from this than the Yarpies, I think that was the best they've got and the All Blacks will cane them by 20+ in Johannesburg. If they ever learnt to play with the same passion within the bounds of the union laws, they'd be a good team. Looking at that meat head at second five though who's tackle base is chin and higher, I doubt thats possible. Its a pity, it'd be great to have some good competition for New Zealand in internationals in the future.

I thought Collins had an average game, Spencer needed to turn them around better with more accurate punting, and I thought Carter was unlucky to be hauled. If anything he should have gone to 1st five, better kicking, looked more capable of beating the sumos from the Yarpies than Spencer did.

If the Yarpies can only slightly increase their discipline (don't blame the ref again - that is so catty), they will give Australia a pasting in Perth.

i agree, i reckon the joburg game will be the game of the year.

carlos seems to have slowed down (under instructions ? ) , i know the bok flankers are quick but man he looked close to getting caught out a few times with his clearances.

bring back merts, and toddy.

actually, i,ll put my chiefs cap on now and say the AB,s missed jono gibbes and robbo last night big time.

I'm going to agree with OzBash, Jono Gibbes & Keith Robinson have been two of the better preformers all year in S12 and for the ABS and I think they were missed through what is labeled 'the nitty gritty'.
I thought Xavier Rush played really well last night and the ball distributing improved so much when Kelleher peplaced Justine.
Why isnt Mehrtens in the 22? #-o

You really have no idea. Where a team scores 3 tries and still loses is not what rugby should be about. It is about scoring tries and this is what holds back union in this country

Yeah, its kind of like England's strategy when they had Wilkinson. But the springboks had it coming with their blatant and constant offsides, there needs to be ample punishment for that sort of thing and penalties provide that, they have to realise that they can't get away with it and that's what lost them the game.

While I got no problem with penalising teams for breaking the rules, (and in Union it is often 50-50 which team gets the penalty), teams need to be better rewarded for scoring tries, not the team winning because they gave away the least amount of penalties. If the idea is that the team who has the best goal kicker wins the game a la England with Wilkinson, well thats what turns fans away. Maybe tries should be 6 points instead of 5.

Yack - do we have to go over it again?

The reason the All Blacks didn't score more tries is because the Yarpies were blatantly off side and infringing at ruck time. We shouldn't promote blatant disregarders of the rules to suit the underdog. If we played like that, the French would be world champs, and who'd be able to live with that.
