I'm sick of the Dykes criticism.

The only other option is Witt and it is obvious that Smith does not rate him.

You've lost me.......where is it obvious that Smith doesnt rate Witt?

Is it the fact that he was signed to a 4 year deal last year?

Or are you saying he should be our 1st grade halfback and put Dykes, our 2nd best player all year, in premier league?

nope - hoplins to hooker, morris to 5/8, with witt, thorman or webster on the bench

that gives 4 rotatingplaymakers to work with, and dykes doesn't have to run forther than he (or any halfback) should have to.

I reckon it's up to the support runners to see an opportunity when they see Dykes coming his way. Just like the Grothe's try. Dykes was heading towards him and Grothe and Mckinnon Put up their hands so Dykes kicks it and Grothe scores.

Our guys are still waiting for Dykes to do something and they all just stand there. THey need to be more proactive and GIVE HIM SUPPORT.

However, I do agree we miss a Permanent 2nd Playmaker like a Fitler/Kenny. Not their skill level that I am talking abt but their style. Someone who talks to their outside backs and plans a set play when the bashing up the field or the no-nonsense stuff is happenning. This playmaker could be Dykes but then he shouldn't get into the hooker or halfback role.

In the days of Sterling and Kenny, Sterlo guided the pack around the park and of course put on attacking plays but sometimes he'd give it to Kenny who had planned with his outside men what they were gonna do.

Therefore, we should have Witt or Thorman acting as the Sterlo and Dykes back at 5/8th planning for a set play and PICKING the opportunities

its a big mistake leaving witt in premmies he should be in first grade playing along side dykes who can teach him a few thinks, you look at the rooster and knights, gidley has benefited from johns and wing and finch have benefited fom fitler.

what the point of witt playing first if hes thrown in when dykes is injured or leave its better to have in now so he can learn and develop from the experience.

Yes he does not rate him. If he did he would put Witt at 7 and Dykes in his real position, which is over 150 games at number 6! Yes 150.

And your second point, no I would not drop him to PL. I would leave him at 6. But please spare me he is not the superstar that you think he is. That is why he did not make any rep teams this year and trust me he never will again. OK 2001 was top year for him but remember Michael Eden won the Rothmans medal one year aswell. A real superstar as is Dykes.
