Imagine if we had bought Leuluai

I was going to wait till after 10 rounds in to post this topic. But Ive been so happy with Smiths progress in only 2 games in the NRL. I think Tim Smith wouldnt have got a look in if Leuluai had been signed and we would have lost him to another club. Tim Smith is already proving how good he is by having 2 tries to his name, topping the NRL try assists with 4 and 18 kicks in play. Ive watched him for a long time and he can definately produce better football than he is at the moment. Very relieved our coach had faith in our youngsters and this will show in the future. We finally have a half who came through our ranks and seems to be the answer to our problem so far.

When are we going to re sign Smithy?

I would like to think before June 30 deadline. He has already pretty much plead allegiance to Parra.

Leulaui was always a shit player, I was swearing and carrying on when I found out that parra was chasing but I thanked god when the Warriors would not release him to us.

Tim was always going to be halfback for us. He has just got it!

How is Leulaui going in England?

UpthEELS Smith did not have faith in Tim Smith or he would not have chased Leulaui so hard.

A majority of the board still wanted Marsh.

Hey, I won't be backward and I'll say I wanted Marsh to start the year.

Pleased it was Tim Smith though

I've got no doubt that Brian was unsure if Tim was up for the task when they were chasing Leuluai back in what October 2004 some 6-7 months ago???

A lot can change in 6 months.

Since Leuluai fell through Brian then backed Tim more but still had Marsh there as a safety net in case Tim Smith didn't adapt to the top grade.

I've got no doubt that at first Brian didn't have 150% faith in Tim Smith but since basically the begining of the post Christmas off season I'm sure that Brian has realised that Timmy can handle the top grade and his supported and shown faith in him since then his 3 months comment after the Tigers win points to this.

Don't need Hohaia by the end of the year with any luck at least one of Green or Marcus will be ready for the top grade and both WILL be better players then Lance if they are not already.

Hohaia has enough talent to be one of the best halfback/five-eighths in the comp..i'd be prepared to lose one or two youngsters to get him.
