The Parra Legends side isn't a patch on Ron's one. Dean Pay? No Ray Higgs? Wally Wynn wasn't one of our best 2 second rowers, either.

Canterbry people, get fair dinkim, andlook at your clubs history, not just the 1980's. The front row gebnerally regarded as the best in any club ever was Edie Burns, Roy Kiraldy, Henry Porter. Give yourselves a triple!

Re Saints, Blacklock is a big callover Lumsden et al, but he has to be considered. His record speaks for itself, as did his GF try in 1999. Offiah? Not in the same league.

Saints pack has the be entirely from it'sgolden era, save for Albert Young. Backrow HAS to be Raper, Provan, Bath.

I'll do a Norths one:

1 Tappy Taplin
2 Ken Irvine
3 Sid Devereaux
4 Herman Peters
5 Harold Horder
6 Greg Florimo
7 Duncan Thompson
8 Don McKinnon
9 George Green
10 Billy Wilson
11 Gary Larson
12 Mark Graham
13 Billy Moore

and a Souths one:

1 Clive Churchill
2 Benny Wearing
3 Ray Branighan
4 Eric Simms
5 Johnny Greaves
6 Alf "smacker' Blair
7 Bob Honan
8 Jack Rayner
9 Elwyn Walters
10 John O'Neil
11 George Treweek
12 Ernie Hammerton
13 Ron Coote

I did mention Ray Higgs & the only reason why i didn't choose Pay was that i wen't for players who where at Parra long term.....Pay was only at Parra for 4 years.

Penrith... a shorter history :)

1. Greg Alexander
2. Allan McIndoe
3. Ryan Girdler
4. Brad Izzard
5. Graham MacKay
6. Brad Fittler
7. Craig Gower
8. Paul Dunn
9. Royce Simmons
10. Paul Clarke
11. Mark Geyer
12. John Cartwright
13. Colin van der Voort

14. Tony Puleatua
15. Peter Kelly
16. Steve Carter
17. Barry Walker

Sorry, but it's pretty difficult to pick the current team, given so many are sooo young. I suspect that Clinton and Waterhouse will be shoe-ins as props at some stage. I know Dunn and Kelly didn't play long at Penrith, but along with Chris Mortimer, I think they had a big impact on establishing a hard-nosed attitude.

There is also a strong argument to have Brandy at half, Gower at hooker, and Rhys Wesser at fullback. But could I really name a great Penrith team without Royce Simmons??? I think Gower needs to start, but if Rhys keeps this up, then adjustments will be made!!
