Ok this is aimed at all these threads about Brisbane being under strength yadda yadda yadda
I know people are really starting to get excited and Im one of them but we still do need to put behind us the injuries and focus solely on winning this game be it against a full strength Broncos side or a reserve grade Broncos Side
Like the last few weeks have been for the JV it would seem yet again this week is no different and yet again this week will be one of the JV most important games they play to determine on how we will fare at seasons end.
We all know what happened before when Brisbane had a bunch of no name players and yes we are a different side now but we still cannot think that Brisbane of all clubs will be walk overs
I do think this game is worth 4pts and not 2pts given the for and against advantage we have over the other sides and given that the Broncos are coming 3rd this really is going to be a good test no matter the strength of the Broncos
Brisbane will still have the likes of Webb, Petro and co up forward and thats still a bloody good forward pack one that would probably still be better than ours, in the backs they have Hunt, Minto and Kelly all who have the ability to cause more than there fair share of problems and then of course they have the dreaded home ground advantage
Lastly Bennett will have them fired up because now they have fallen behind from the top 2 sides, something in which they have worked very hard to do. They before last round had won 6 in a row and well they won't want to loose too much momentum before the finals let alone 2 matches in a row
If we play like we did against the Bulldogs then I think we will win and we could win by some margin but if we come out like we did against the Eels then it could be a very different story and could work against us in more ways than one
I don't want to be a party pooper and yes I think we can win but its still important that we realise that we are playing a side who is coming 3rd, a side that has had injury problems all year (they have been with out Tallis, Webcke, Lockyer, Civ, Berrigan and co before) and have still been able to win
No matter what side the Broncos name on the weekend they will still be classed as favourites and they deserve to but I will still be cheering my side on and praying that they cause a big upset and put more than just 1 foot into the finals door something which we havent felt for a long time now ;-)
