Typical response from "true believers"
You can't cop it when someone can support the club (over 55 years in my case) yet still be critical of it when it is necessary.
Being critical of something doesn't mean you support it less, it actually means you just would like to see change for the better and are willing to voice that opinion.
Back to my earlier question, your highlight of the last 3 years and why will we do better this year under Mc Fookknuckle?

mate i hate the drunk driver, but all i want is wins and premiership success. but i will say I'm willing to give drunk driver one last role of the dice and get this team to where it belongs. the pressure is all on him now to deliver. madge Maguire is waiting. we're all true believers. go saints :dragon:

There in lies the problem with your post.
Unless we finish bottom 4 he has no pressure on him what soever.
He has a signed contract until the end of next year.
Mid table finish or thereabouts means we get him until the end of 2019 at the very least and by that time we will start to lose younger players and get left with a very old squad which when a new coach finally comes along will take a further 3 years to sort out.
Your willingness to give him another role of the dice condemns us to 4 more years of crap.

Actually OT, on this one I don’t think he is saying that at all.

I read that as wanting success this year and that’s the roll of the dice for Mary. Doesn’t particularly want him to get a new contract. Ie comment about other waiting in the wings

Hi Mills,
Not saying I think he wants him to get a new contract but for sure he doesn't understand the consequences of having this dope at the helm and what happens if we finish mid table.
Wanting premiership success and saying Mc Fookknuckle in the same sentence is ludicrous.
PS: Good luck for the season and I'm sure Duges will be very good for you guys.

All this is pretty right, except the last sentence. What condemns us is the governance of the club, and how they’ve set up the voting structure to protect themselves. Bitching here about How shit Mary is, being cautiously optimistic, or claiming he’s the messiah all have the same effect on the decision makers at the club - Sweet. f**k. All.
I have more fun, and enjoy myself more watching footy, and following a team when I apply some unreasoning optimism. Do I wish there was more to be optimistic about - hell yes! Doesn’t make me complicit in poor governance.
