I don't care what the player is like as long as we win.
The team is not there to make friends.
One objective to win.
2016 team was not liked by people outside of the fans.
But they won that's all that counts
That's not the Sharks attitude now is it. Good characters, win occasionally, cause no offence.

Which is why in the good clubs there is no such thing as a no dickhead policy. A club CAN NOT have success without a couple of fair dinkum cockheads. That's just how league is and has been since 1908. The Cronulla Sutherland Wokes have absolutely no hard arsed maniacs and every team will find someone to get under their skin and put them right off their games.

But that's got nothing to do with wokeness or being a trackhead. It's about mental toughness and resilience.

Perhaps but it has nothing to do with resilience either. That's not the apex in dealing with stress in modern pyshchology.

The aim is to be anti fragile.

Fragile - collapses under stress
Resilience - repels stress but internalises it so that collapse still comes
Anti fragility - Thriving and excelling under stress. It's rare but it's the pinnacle. Someone like Jimmy Maloney has it.

The key is you keep them in line to a degree

I don't know if Fitzy signed off on this haka business to SJ but that projected the wrong image so much.

I am thinking had that been a player who played with Rangers moved to Celtic, and last game was at away venue no way would anything like that happened, nor Sunderland and Newcastle.

The club is projecting the wrong attitude, and the fans need to make the venue hostile, it certainly has changed since the late 80's

Think the fans were hurting more than the club and players. Well the people in here anyway. The teenagets who go to the game to pick up, the mums who go to gossip, and the majority of other people who turn up don't give a shit either. The place is like a grave yard. More noise form the warriors fans last night

Crowd was 12000 odd and id say 11000 of those couldn't of cared less. Just a night out away from home

f**king lame arse supporters and club. More passion with the 300 people in here than the entire club put together

Can I pose a question to the forum..

After watching the past few years of Cronulla and Canterbury, would you prefer Fitzgibbon or Cameron Ciraldo as the Sharks coach moving forward?

Jury still out on Ciraldo for me, still out on Fitz till we win some finals games but I like Fitz more.

Something about Ciraldo gives me the Webster vibes and it won’t be a prolonged success where as Fitz feels more of a long term coach.

I prefer FITZGIBBON...

This is a subjective opinion based solely on what we have seen and heard in interviews... I have never met either of them...

Ciraldo:
Positives - Apparently knows how to 'install' and maintain a very good defensive scheme; Can recognise talent and secure it for the team; Seems 'hard-nosed'...
Negatives - I don't like prickly characters, as there is a good chance they are motivated by insecurity rather than positivity. This rubs off on ALL their relationships, and can damage team harmony.

Fitzgibbon:
Positives - I love the 'Follow me' attitude (as exemplified by his Jiu-Jitsu sessions on game day). He also has the automatic respect that comes with playing the game at the highest level, and patiently learning how to coach at the Roosters for years. He is very level-headed and positive. He knows how to bring players into the team at the right time, and is also good at developing talent and keeping it.
Negatives - Could be better at getting the most out of players (case-in-point - Nicho's mental health issues). Bench rotation is too robotic and inconsistent.
