In search of our next coach

I have seen 2 years now of Raper, and have not been impressed, his coaching is very basic, and any other team with a decent coach worked out his formula.

His decisions to stick with certain players no matter how badly there perform was disgraceful.

And then not to give others a run, or drop them for one perforamce leaves a lot to be desired.

Raper is a yes man, for the club to extend his contract after a handful of matches this year, was a kneejerk reaction, and by mid season it was shown that this was wrong.

Who do we look for, its hard to get good coaches, its seems for 2006, we are stuck with Raper, lets hope we have a out with his contract so we dont cop him in 07, looking for a coach, there is a very good coach who may be coming on the market, if not now, but end of 2006, due to problems inside of the club, he is outspoken, but this is good, can deliver the goods, its time the club had a very close look at this coach

I'd welcome Matt Elliot anyday. He's intelligent and has had limited talent to work with and admitts it. Does anyone know when his Canberra gig is scheduled to end ?

Craig Coleman..

Not.

I wouldn't get your hopes up about changing coaches before Rapers contract is up. We have already had to pay out one coach in the last 3 years.

Col Murphy would be ideal.

P.S Tim Sheens is off contract next year along with Benji. Now thats one great package!

You're on the boil today Snoop. I've been advocating him all year but I can't see the Jets letting that winner go. He has got the best out of some underperforming Sharks this year and moulded them into winners, unlike the man at the helm of our club who just doesn't know.

I think you will find ima that according to last weeks RLW Col is on the outer at the Chooks next year as they want to take FULL control of all coaching side of things. In the article Col even said he thinks he will be watching the Jets games on the hill.

Is our club THAT smart?????? I think NOT!

The sharks board must be spewing after jumping the gun and signing some no name to coach PL next year especially now if Col is coming onto the market. Damn surely we need an assistant coach somewhere in our club. Bugger that lets just sack supercoach and pay out his contract.

The coach i am talking about is Ricky Stuart, there is massive problems at club in respect to Stuart & Gould, apperntly Gould was dealing with players instead of going through Stuart, Stuart has not talked to Gould since, Stuart wants to run the show, problem is Gould has support of Nick politis, who is the money at the roosters, Stuart off contract end of 2006, if not rectified, he will leave club, this is lot more then storm in teacup, Stuart leaves, Gould may coach Roosters again.

Doesnt this have similiar feel how he ousted Graham Murray at roosters, the surprising thing is of the 3 coaches Gould was only one that didnt get Roosters to grand Final

The other rumor was that Gould offered his services to become Dragons coaching co-ordinator for 2006, this was denied.

I believe if Stuart stays at Roosters look for Gould to get some form of role with Gold Coast, as coaching co-ordinator, as the coaching team is both John Cartwright & Trevor Gilmeister both never coached at NRL level
