Simmons = Excellent. His defence is better from the back. Attack excellent supporting the forwards offloads.

Merrit = Another feeble effort by the most undeserving first grade play. His effort is abysmal. Lucky for us he didn't kick, signalling that he won't be there for much longer if at all & Hilder will be.

Franze = 1 good run, then goodnight. CYA

Goldy = appauling defensive effort. BeenThere, you have a lot to answer to. His technique is wrong. WRONG!

Kent = Fantastic! defensively, in attack, positional play, jumps & speed. CYA Merrit.

Gallen = Quiet. Offered little

Sully = Mistake putting him at pivot. Sully is a hooker & part time impact player. Nothing more.

Beattie = people like Salmon & Dragons Slayer will bag beattie. But they have never played footy. Great effort after 8 weeks out. Far from his best, far, but no different to Stevos game after 3 weeks out.

Hilder = best Shark by far. How will he progress playing out of position?
or is 9 his spot?

Nutters = Did what Nuttere soes but was ineffective largely. 10 for effort 5 for result.

IceAxe = Took the foot off this week. Was his chance to consolidate consistency & didn't.

Galloway = Great premier league player. He doesn't seem to have what we neede when Stevo isn't there. Selection error here by Raper. The Beast should have played.

Bailey = Quiet. Offered little.

Lomu = Cant do what he does without Stevo & peach or Noddy. Therefore another selection error.

Bickers = Went well. A few big hits, that wren't followed up. f**k the defense was soft & slow.

Dumas = Our superstar. Karmichael who?

Aitken = What happened to the first 50 minutes? For f**k Sake he went well. If he can play 5/8th & likes it, there is our solution.
he looke bigger in firsts & more at home. Bird is no longer required.
Aitken showed more in 2 sets,than Bird in 2 seasons.

No ifs, no buts.
No Bird in centres
No Bird in in the forwards.
No Bird on the wing.

Bird belongs at Northies, where he was tonight.

Piss off. Beattie is shit. He is baggage to the club. Players like Lomu, Newton, Isemonger, Galloway etc shit all over him.

Simmons = OK at fullback but no peach
sign peach for 2 years

Merrit = hmm at least he was more involved but if that is the best he can do, seeya later

Franze = somewhat good out of dummyhalf in the first half but seeya later for the rest of it

Goldy = as i said at the start of the year
good for two tries from missed tackles each week

Kent = hardly recognised the bloke! popped up everywhere. i rate him

Gallen = as good as he could be

Sully = keep him at hooker. if souths want him at 7 they are a joke

Beattie = not bad but nowhere near as good as the leadership role he should have taken

Hilder = OUTSTANDING

Nutters = not bad but not good either, should have done so many times better

IceAxe = (i agree with reefy) Took the foot off this week. Was his chance to consolidate consistency & didn't.

Galloway = should have done oh so much better (See icemonger comment)

Bailey = was he on the field or what?

Lomu = not bad but would like to see his stats too many errors

Bickers = av-as, or beneath it. if his game was a chick you wouldnt look twice at her

Dumas = THE THIEF IS THE KING OF THE WORLD

Aitken = byebye bird. well done once he found his footing

i agree with this
No ifs, no buts.
No Bird in centres
No Bird in in the forwards.
No Bird on the wing.

Bird belongs at Northies, where he was tonight

bird shouldnt have been at northies
he should have been at some other club
some other pub
in some other suburb
in some other city
thank god he wont come back for us
he's a joke.

Simmons = it has been said peachey is the clubs best fullback tonite proved it

Merrit = is he scared?

Franze = at least tried to break tackles

Goldy = worst game for a while

Kent = i didnt expect much - my expectations were fulfilled

Gallen = why?

Sully = reality check for sully fans - rapes needs to find a second general play kicker - soft game

Beattie = i was dissappointed - he needed to step up .

Hilder = went ok

Nutters = yeah he makes lots of tackles - yeah he misses lots of tackles

IceAxe = went ok

Galloway = needed leadership - didnt get it.

Bailey = potential to be a great player but tonite he needed to play a leadership role not give away 200 meters in penalties

Lomu = good to see that offload - worked well the last few weeks but foundther backs were having a nap so his efforts were wasted

Bickers = went ok

Dumas = too quiet

Aitken = the answer to 5/8? outplayed sullivan

I'd like to make a judgement on Beattie after a coupla more games. Im not sure if he really has a place though, he's not the sort of player who gives heaps of offloads as required.

Simmons. Reasonably safe at the back. No major stuff ups like his Roosters and Dragons games. 6/10

Merrit. Bad miss on Mogg. Fairly ordinary the rest of the time. 5/10

McGoldrick. At least the bloke tries hard. His defensive deficiences were show up again. 6/10

Franze. The bloke is slow and unfit, his slowness and poor reading of play led to Canberra's first two tries. An embarrassing effort. How bad are Stephen Ross, or Dimitri Pelo, at least they're young and have strength and speed? 4/10

Kent. Made some good darts out of dummy half. Solid in defense, no glaring errors, unlike Merrit. If he's our second choice winger, we're struggling a bit though. 6/10

Gallen. Not as effective as he was in the previous weeks. A battering ram, belongs back in the forwards as soon as we find a decent 5/8 option. 6/10

Sullivan. Struggled at half, because our forwards were blown off the park in the first half. Looked good when he went back to hooker. 7/10

Beatts. Solid, but not the firebrand he was back in 2001. 6/10

Hilder. Workaholic, with some decent ball skills. Good game. 7/10

Nutley. Works his guts out every week. 6/10

Isemonger. Average. Popped a few silly passes. 5/10

Galloway. He's only 18. Wiki and Co. gave it to him tonight. 5/10

Bailey. Back to his ill disciplined worst. Dropped balls, brain explosions. 5/10

Bickerstaff. Blink and you'll miss him. 5/10

Dumas. Some good hits, pretty solid effort. 6/10

Andrew Lomu. Not as strong as recent weeks. 6/10

Aitken. This kid has a bit of class about him. Nearly got us back in the game. 7/10

Simmons = Had a tough assignment. Didn't talk ebnough from the back, the defence lacked communication. We missed Peach big time in that regard.

Merrit = Strange that he didn't kick after what Raper said on Fox. He played fairly poorly, seems to lack confidence. Should stick with him though.

Franze = No comment

Goldy = Had a similar game to his early round performances.

Kent = A sound effort, never had much opportunity. I have always liked this guy.

Gallen = Looked at about 80%. Needed to show the way a bit but didn't.

Sully = Tried hard but was way behind the 8 ball with our forwards not providing the platform. No half back would have looked good coming out of his own 20 at the end of every set.

Beattie = Looked at about 50%. Should have had a run in PL first but obviously Stuey wanted some experience out there.

Hilder = Good solid performance. This guy will be in first grade for a long long time. Give him a kicking tee for Christmas in July and tell him to practice every day.

Nutters = Just not a leader. He is a support act and a bloody good one but he can't do it alone.

IceAxe = Same as above.

Galloway = Lacked direction and agro. Needs to listen to Mega Death before he takes the field.

Bailey = Again, tried hard but discipline let him down. Needs blokes running off him late.

Lomu = Had a typically good game. Offloading again without the support he deserves. Wingers should be in his hip pocket all day.

Bickers = For a no nonsense player he is just holding his own. Made some god tackles that saved tries but doesn't offer anything in offense.

Dumas = Tremendous effort again. Put him at lock and get Bailey back in the centres.

Aitken = Just what we were looking for. Defensively great. He gave us some direction and apart from one poor effort, kicked the ball well too. He is the answer at 5/8th. Let's hope he get's picked there.

You boofheads who are calling for Bird to disappear are jokers. He hasn't played for 10 weeks. I hope they play him at lock in PL next week. After that we'll see.

I agree McS. Bird is a pretty big investment, and there arent that many blokes around as young as him that have done what he has. Aitken at 5/8 suits me just fine.

Depends on the price with Bird. I thibk he cant come back at 5/8 for first grade. I recon he's a Premier League player until he does somthing special. Is there really a spot for him in 1st grade? Who would you drop to put him in?

I wouldn't put him in first grade straight away, he has been out for 2.5 months. Let him find his feet in PL. Then we'll see.

The question is relevant.
Will Bird behappy playing PL waiting for an injury?
because he won't be putting any backs out of a job & definitely none of the forwards.
Even in PL there are 3 forwards in front of him.
& it Aitken gets promoted, Gallen is back to the forwards.
There is no obvious room for him.

& you are right Salmon.
there are not many blokes around in first grade that have done what he hase done.
Nothing.

Did I say first grade, or cant you read? He has captained NSW CHS and Australian Schoolboys. If those selectors think that he has a talent, then its obvious that he does. He's a keeper.

The majority of those players never make it in the NRL.

Is that an exact quote McSharkie?
& please put in context by showing the entire quote.

Got a team list? I'd be interested to see how correct that is. Keith Galloway and R Williams have had simmilar rep honours and have played first grade. I believe Joe Williams from Souths played with Bird too.
