Confirmed broken jaw for Lane.

This has got the beginnings of 'one of those' seasons.

Interesting to see what we do on both edges for the first few rounds of the season.
Of course, depending on the seriousness of the fracture he could be out until round 10, or much longer if it's a worse case scenario.

Dyl looked very underdone. Im sure the talk was he was injured in the off season as well. Question mark over Drown and Hodgos probable inability to play 80 opens up the 14 for Jake if there was ever any doubt. Probably the best move I suspect.

We've got to try and get some value out of Bryce in his final year of contract. A 14 to cover some minutes of those guys if needed seems right up his alley, allowing Jake to develop his game instead (as his Dad promised in post-GF pressers) by playing serious regular minutes steering a team in reggies this season.

Agreed, I’m glad we re signed DB , though his application is still a concern in my opinion

It was reported that he picked up a bug in Bali (?). He lost kegs and also had a nasty arm or leg infection.

I’d be going with a lineup of this next week:

1. Gutho
2. Russell
3. Penisini
4. Asi/Momirovski if we sign him
5. Sivo
6. Brown
7. Moses
8. Paulo
9. Hodgson (because we have few alternatives)
10. RCG
11. Matto
12. Doorey
13. Hopgood

14. Rein
15. Bryce
16. Makatoa
17. Emu

I would train with Rein starting, and bring Hodgson on after 20mins.

I would maybe have Doorey (barring possible injury) in Waqa's centre spot - I'm assuming we won't sign anyone and Asi isn't ready for 80mins at top level.

Which means Cartwright still starts (sigh), and I'd need Hodgson plus one other guy on the bench. I reckon BA will still go with Murchie.

But BA has to make an example of Blake and Simonssen next week, and drop them to Cup.
