Strange thing with Spags, he wants to be seen as a big player at the Eels, if he worked with business associates to set up TPAs he would elevate his position with the unwashed. However, his ongoing attempts destabilises the club is a way and doesn’t line up with his so called intentions.
I said similar stuff 6-12 months ago the prick is loaded if he actually wanted to help the club he is in the best position having no official role with the club and he would still have contacts with players agents and what not to coordinate TPAs at arms length of the club.

Unfortunately for Roy it's all about the Ego and power trip to be on the club board when actually he can help the club more away from it.

Parramatta captain Mitchell Moses is set to undergo further scans on a foot injury on Wednesday as the Eels attempt to clear up some of the uncertainty around the immediate future of their chief playmaker.
Moses had a screw inserted in his foot midway through last year and it is understood he has suffered fresh soreness in the area, prompting the club to send their talismanic halfback for testing.

It is understood Moses has already undergone scans on the area which failed to reveal an explanation for the complaint. Eels officials are hopeful further testing on Wednesday will provide them with some clarity as they look to get to the bottom of a problem which has rocked Moses and the club.

Coach Jason Ryles hinted at the uncertainty around Moses in a statement on the club’s website announcing their team to play the Storm.

“Mitch is experiencing soreness from a previous injury,” Ryles said.

“We’re taking a cautious approach to ensure his foot heals properly and he can play his best football for the team.

“We will continue to monitor Mitch’s recovery and make an assessment on a return date next week.”

Moses’ unavailability shapes as the latest blow to Ryles as he attempts to put a tumultuous preseason behind him heading into this weekend’s round one game against the club where he cut his coaching teeth, Melbourne.

Moses’ absence has been exacerbated by the unavailability of Dean Hawkins after he injured his calf on the last day of their preseason training block.

Ronald Volkman, who was only signed by the club in December, will wear the famed Parramatta No.7 jersey in their absence.

It’s a big ask for Volkman, who missed the entirety of last season with a shoulder problem, although the lion’s share of responsibility is likely to fall on five-eighth Dylan Brown.

Brown was already under a blazing spotlight heading into the game due to the ongoing speculation over his future.

The New Zealand international has a monster offer on the table from Newcastle and even the most ardent Eels fan would concede the club is fighting an uphill battle to convince him to stay given the money that is on the table.

Interestingly, Brown has been given an opportunity to lead the team with Moses out of action, giving him the chance to dispel some of the doubts over whether he can succeed as the man with his hands on the wheel and justify the Newcastle price tag.

Moses’ ability to get back on the field is likely to dictate Parramatta’s season. Having recently inked a new deal with the club, Moses is clearly the most important player at Parramatta after being handed the captaincy following the departure of Clint Gutherson.

This foot soreness thing is a worry. Other threads have speculated that he will be out for an extended period.

So it's inflammation or irritation around a screw in a bone from previous surgery. From what I can see online, there are only two ways to treat it. Leave it or go in after it.

This is from Venice.ai

Conservative management: If the soreness is mild, the football player may be able to continue playing with some modifications to their training and competition schedule. Conservative management may include rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE), physical therapy, and pain management with medication.

I think they have been doing ^^^^ for some time.

Screw removal: If the soreness is severe or persistent, screw removal may be necessary. This can be done arthroscopically or through an open incision.

Rehabilitation: After screw removal, the football player will need to undergo a rehabilitation program to strengthen the foot and ankle, improve range of motion, and progress to functional activities.

Return to play: The return to play timeline will depend on the individual's progress and the severity of the soreness. Generally, it can take several weeks to several months for a full recovery.

@Stevie this is from The Age - same quote, but it looks like they are behind the times. f**k all their eyes.

Ryles, who was working with the Storm as an assistant to Craig Bellamy until midway through last season, said after the Eels’ second and final trial that Moses had “every scan under the sun”, and had been cleared of anything serious.

“Because of where we were in the pre-season, we didn’t want to push him through whatever he didn’t need to,” Ryles said at the time. “But he’s all clear, he’s happy and he’s training – we expect him to play round one.”

Eels officials confirmed Moses was likely to be fit for Sunday week’s game at CommBank Stadium against Wests Tigers. Junior Paulo will step up as Parramatta captain at AAMI Park.

Nice find Stevie.

So Moretti, Cartwright and Greig straight out overlooked (even for the NRL Round 1 reserves bench), and so can be considered first choice at Cup-level in 2025.

I’ve had the same injury as Moses and I felt it for easily 2 years after it healed. I didn’t get surgery though.
I have a heavily pinned and screwed right ankle, never an issue. I have a plated and pinned collarbone, never an issue.

On the other hand (PUN!) I have a pinned and plated right wrist, constantly f**king sore. I’ve had arthroscopic surgery to help it but no diff. I have some decent arthritis as well.

Point of the story, I reckon when you screw or pin or plate, it’s 1/3 (based on sample size) a chance to not work well.

Fortunately my sporting career was over then but Moses has many more years, I hope they don’t need to re set which is not uncommon.

I always felt it. Took me well over two years to run pain free. Foot would also swell. I was about the same age as Moses is now when it happened.

I would assume he will be getting treatment for the whole season how he recovers from a a game will be a big difference now. Lots and lots of ice and then physio on that area.
