Doubt Volks plays 9. Whilst he’s great at putting his body in front of defenders, he doesn’t have the body to make 30+ tackles.
If Ryley is out, TDS plays until he cant and then our halves share the 9 in attack with Papalii getting more involved

I am happy to hold off playing Lorenzo until after the Bye if we can.

More cup games i think the better atm.

What would be the plan though if Smith is out - Volkman at 9, TDS at 14, Lorenzo at 6.

Who comes off for TDS after 25-30 mins.

We may not have much choice with Renz, we may need to throw him in before he's ready but I hope for his development and our sake we hold for as long as we can.

I think Dyl walker can play that second 9 role if he's needed, it doesn't exactly take him our of the middle but his role may need to be altered somewhat.

We'll most likely have others to take their place by then. I'm kinda wondering if the NRL are looking at why there are so many injuries across the competition. Maybe we've become the NRL version of Rollerball.

I have no idea what his current deal is, though, so a bit of a loaded question. If Lorenzo is the future, we still need a back up and Volkman can play either 6 or 7.

I was a bit worried after listening to TCT this week, they mentioned Penisini was touch and go to play and apparently Lorenzo had been training in his position.

I hope I heard wrong or they misinterpreted that from the field sessions because that would be a diabolical decision.

We have a habit of overrating our juniors and fast-tracking them into first grade without a proper grounding in the lower grades. Give it time and Iongi—arguably ahead of the lot, including Blaize Talagi—shows what real development looks like.

That’s why I’ve got more faith in that Penrith pathway and how they do it. Players like Bamblett, coming through the Panthers system just like Iongi—and someone we were fortunate to pick up—could end up eclipsing them all.

I would have been more disappointed to lose him than Twidle if I’m being honest.
