Interchange problem on PC

After getting a brand spanking laptop with enough chunk to run the game, I decided to get hold of it. The problem is the interchange button wont let me select it so I cant make interchanges.

Any one else had this problem and how do I rectify it ?

Having played all the versions now I think there is a significant difference between them all and I think I like the PC most of all although I havent played it all that much yet.

So whats wrong with my interchange ????

Have you installed the PC 1.01 patch available at http://www.trublu.com.au/?

This fixed a couple of interchange problems.

I can't interchange either.. it's blurred out for the whole game.

PC is definitely the best version. I've played it on XBox and I couldn't see the players numbers or anything. Last weekend I played it on PS2 and it looked terrible! The most annoying thing is that you can't configure the buttons on PS2.

I'm probably only stating the obvious but your pausing the game by selecting the allocated pause button in controls aren't you?

When I used a gamepad it wouldn't allow me to interchange because I was hitting escape, and the escape button isn't the pause button for the controller, the number 9 button is. If your using keyboard check that esc is the allocated pause button.

You probably already knew all of this, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Yep, Jono hit it on the head. I used to have the same problem till i configured one of my Gamepad buttons to pause instead of escape.

BTW just got a new system, and having the graphics maxed out looks pretty damn good. Plus the 2004 patch, my interest in this game is back!

Yeah I bought a Radeon graphics card the other day, and it looks great. 16x aniscophic filtering and 6xFSAA, this game looks sharper then I even thought imaginable. It's great. Timmo's 2004 patch, with the high res jerseys top it all off.

I can't make interchange because my controller doesn't have enough buttons! I even tried to configure it to use a keyboard key, but it won't!

That was exactly yhe problem. When I was hitting escape it gives you the menu for the keyboard player and not the gamepad player. It wont let you configure a keyboard button for pause for the gamepad so to get interchanges when using a gamepad you would have to lose a button during the game eg sidestep or fend.

Very strange.

I have taken to buying an adapter to be able to use my ps2 pad with my pc with all buttons configurable ( 12 buttons I believe it would be ). Hopefully this will solve the problem.

ive got the sidewinder and have never had any problems. esc still works as pause when using a pad with few buttons.

Yeah, the Esc button works, but you can't do interchange. I've got a sidewinder controller and I've already had to salvage my fend and sidestep buttons to play. I can't salvage anymore, unless I don't want to kick bombs and field goals.

I picked up a Logitech Wingman for only $50 a few months ago. It's good but it's not worth buying if you have a Sidewinder just for one game. But if your Sidewinder stops working, check out the wingman it has 9 buttons, 2 directional controllers, a throttle slider and is fairly cheap.

Maybe I have an older one. It has the D-pad, two buttons on the back and four on the front.
