Everybody knows that the Bulldogs had a young side in the WCC and they played well but the average age of the starting 13 for Leeds was only slightly more than the Dogs. I think the Dogs average age was 24 while the Rhinos was 24 and a half.
Which means Leeds should be a powerhouse for years to come.

It was good to hear in the commentary how many of the Rhinos side were products of their academy/development - I forget the exact number.

But it bodes well for them to continue breeding players in their system, instead of having to buy most of them in...

Both sides should win their comps a few times over the next 5 years. Leeds youth policy is now paying massive dividends with much more exciting talent like Smith, Scruton and Ablett to come. They are also in a good Salary Cap position in that they're not chucking half of it at a core of 4 or 5 superstars.

I hope both sides win their comps again and maybe build up the kind of rivalry that Brisbane and Wigan did in the early 90s. If so, the next WCC has to be in Oz.
