Donald Duck was so named after Walt Disney watched D.G. Bradman (Aus) get out for a duck during the Australian tour of North America in 1932. Disney, a keen cricket fan, was a member of Hollywood Cricket Club.

:? :?

I'll have to go break Disney's legs for that

You probably still could. As far as I know they still have Walt Disney in a chriogenic [excuse spelling] freezer waiting for the cure for whatever he has.

Otherwise he would technically have officially deceased - although one suspects he may have been officially declared to have ceased living.

Remember reading a story about that tour, where the Cricketers visited Yankie Stadium (or one of the more famous baseball parks). Bradman was thrown a pitch by one of the MLB players, and he proceeded to belt the crap out of it, and send it into the stands.

While the onterage of players and journo's gasped, Bradman turned, shrugged his shoulders and said "Anyone can hit a full toss for six!"

Or so the folk law goes.......

It was actually Bradman, McCabe and someone else, who smashed 30 or so pitches out of the park. The rest is pretty much spot on.
