How do you market it, without the stars though?
Take it to places like Canada or Hong Kong or Russia
How do you market it, without the stars though?
You do realize this is what we do with our game in these expansion markets now.......
Sponsors aren't going to get on board for a bush style amateur comp. Look at cabramatta. Who outside of rugby league fans know about this?
You gotta gotta give sponsors reasons and incentives to sign up.....
it needs big sponsors and big media coverage...as pointed out above look at cabramatta, its a fantastic little event...and only we know about it lol
are they NRL stars or kangaroo, kiwi, samoan, english stars?? don't confuse the world 9s with the NRL 9s or a possible 9's curcuit..
and you can't play in toronto pre season....it'll be -10c
Maybe make it age restricted at first as Clubs would more likely release the young guns rather than their stars.what i was meaning about "NRL stars" is people always say we're at the whim of the clubs cos they pay their wages...well actually the NRL tv grant pays their wages..so in a round about way its the NRL thats pays em'...but anyway...im just being silly..
and i agree with your 9's circuit & world 9's senario
I reckon for the big 3 it should be age restricted..say under 23-24s
Singapore? Good luck with that.
Random country pulled out of my arse, don't read too much into it.
That said, if Ozzy Rools can throw a game in bloody Shanghai..
There is a bit of a difference. The major sponsor of one of the teams is Chinese. Plus AFL supporters will go just about anywhere to follow their teams. Or enough of them will.
I doubt that there were any walk-ins, other than locally based Aussies. The whole crowd was either Aussies or local Huawei employees bused in for the occasion.
There is obviously some money available in Singapore to attract events to their stadium, which from all accounts is a bit of a white elephant.
I understand that it is a pretty good facility, air conditioned apparently.
The thing is, would an event there lead to anything substantial? History says no.
Speak of the devil, apparently the RFL had an offer from Singapore for the World Club Challenge, reported by Sky Sports this morning
