International Development

A simple idea for the NRL to help International Rugby League would be to donate $1 from EVERY ticket purchase to EVERY NRL match to help developing nations.
If this money were pooled in 2003 we would have $2,604,106 to help International Rugby League.
As the world leaders of Rugby League I beleive it is the NRL and ESL's duty to help the International game. I do not see the NRL parting with such a sum of money but I'm sure if they asked the fans most would gladly see $1 from their match ticket go to a worthy cause.

On the same note perhaps 50cents from every ticket go to Junior Development in ALL States of AUS and 50cents to International Rugby League.

This idea has been mentioned before, perhaps described a little better too but it is a simple idea that I'm sure all NRL fans would welcome.

look i wouldn't have a problem donating $10 over for international development, and there would be many others like me.

Maybe they should setup donation tents at all RSL,NL and NRL games for the surport of the game

I agree. I suggested something similar a couple of months back - the only difference was I said to put the ticket prices up by $1 and that $1 went to the international game.

That's a great idea but it wont change the fact that we have a bunch of pr*cks running the game at International level. Teh sooner the RLIF is overhauled the better.

Recently, I floated the idea on another forum of players of all levels having 0.5 to 1.0 % of their earnings garnished and put towards a fund for International Development. The general consensus seem to be that elite level players are not really that interested in emerging RL nations, except for their 'novelty' value.

So are the NRL / ESL players only interested in their time in the game not its future. Is the focus purely on 2004, not 2014 or 2024 ?

I think you've hit the nail on the head Partisan. All this talk with the RLPA negotiating about helping the grass roots and juniors is all a smoke screen. Top players want top money and that's all they are bargaining for. I don't think players give a rats ass about the game at an internationl level.

I totally agree.
Ive been on this forum for a few weeks and have noticed how we use email alot when we want to give ideas, comments and other things. The ideas i see on this site are second to none. Us fans know what the problems are with our great game and know many solutions. I dont wanna see League locally or internationaly die. So i believe the people on this forum should work together and form some type of online group that once a month or so, gos to fox studios, sees Dave and present ideas. We have to get out there and make it clear.
Tell dave about Tv and how the fans are ripped off by fox!, how we want internationals to be the pinicle of our game.
News LTD has been piss f@#king around with our game too much in the last 9 years & its time to take it back and make it what it was and what it should have been. We saw how people power works with league - look at souths.

Cheers
