A crowd of 726 is somewhat disappointing! Why is it that Canada can get 4,000 to 5,000 to their games yet Scotland, which is closer to Northern England Rugby League heartland and would get the Super League games on television and has a national team made up of semi-professional players get crowds in the hundreds? Don't they promote the games there?

Even some countries in mainland Europe would get crowds better than that.

The Scotch aren't a very dynamic race and aren't that quick to take on new things. Union is as about as dour as the Scots like, matches their personality.

Scotch is a drink. The Scottish are probably one of the most inventive races per head of population there has ever been. Not very dynamic :lol::lol:

As someone with Scottish parents and as someone who used to live in Edinburgh its more to do with the fact that it is immersed in Soccer. The promotion for this game would of recieved very little press especially as the national football side were about to play(and lose) to Wales. If it were played in Summer (which admittedly only lasts a week)with better weather and no soccer the crowd would of been better. As for this notion that the scots are dour and not dynamic what a load of rubbish! Get on the drink with a Scot you'll have a good laugh(thats if you can understand them) and if it werent for the dynamic thinking of scots there would be no tv,phone, trains or tyres for your car.

I will wait until the Ireland/Australia game next year to pass judgement on the game in Scotland and Ireland. A small, barely promoted tournament played at small grounds isn't enough to pull crowds.
