Which sports wouldn’t they qualify for those nations in?

Yeh pretty sure eligibility rules are much the same in other major sports - Born, Parent, Grandparent, Residency. Rugby League is actually stricter now since the up the 'residency' rule from 3 years to 5.

The switching rules are obviously different but if someone is eligible for Tonga or Lebanon in Rugby League they'd be eligible for them in Soccer, Onion or Badminton as well.

Misunderstood what?

You complained that GB players werent allowed to represent Scotland/Wales/etc.

That is not what the report says. GB players cannot represent Aus or NZ. Thats it.

Bad Australia hoarding all the Australians. Nobody is putting a gun to their heads.

Thankfully the ARLC has realised that the international scene is dependent, not just on how strong Australia is, but how strong the opposition is as well.

I didn’t misunderstand anything Tyson Frizel a capped welsh and Australian player can’t play for GB. Now I’m not expecting him to be playing for wales immediately but it’s not unimaginable for him to be back in a wales shirt at some point. He would then be excluded from GB.
It’s just a stupid rule, GB isn’t England and anyone who is eligible to rep the home Nations should Be eligible for GB as well.

What are the rules in Soccer ?

the eligibility is the same however you can’t switch teams after you’ve been capped in a competitive team. With some exceptions like the Kosovan diaspora being allowed to switch once they became a recognised nation.
