England v Fiji & ADF v Turkey weren't sanctioned matches, so won't count towards ranking points.

I believe of the RLWC warm ups, only Lebanon v Wales & France v Tonga were sanctioned.

I would have like to see a "plate" series where the bottom team in each pool plays in a simple knockout

Something like

Scotland v Greece
Jamaica v Wales

With winners and losers playing off the following week

3rd place in each group form a pool to decide 9th to 12th

4th place in each group form a pool to decide 13th to 16th

Gives a much needed extra three matches to them since they are all together in camp anyway. Can be layer over three weeks before QF, SF and Final

Means they get exact what you say much needed practice

But also means the final remains the focus for everyone on the last weekend
