IRLF should form a genuine test match Aboriginal team

Right now Australia is too dominant making the world cup uncompetitive and the only 2 challenger team England and NZL can't get close. They won't be catching up anytime soon either.

The only foreseeable solution is to create the Australian Aborigine team as a genuine test team.

The team would take Prince, Thurston, Hodges and Inglis out of the Aus team. Then instead of 1 super team (Aus) and 2 decent countries we would have 4 teams that are more evenly spread. There are other great Aboriginal players like Bowen etc. too.

It would grow the game massively in Australia in indiginous communities. It would give RL a HUGE base in NT and also WA as Aborigines would take up the game aspiring to represent the Aboriginal team.

The reality is Australias dominance means that there is not many options but to form a genuine aboriginal team as a "test nation". The team has genuine passion and was begging to be including in the world cup or atleast play a warm-up game against the Kangaroos.

What about being included in a tri-nations style tournament? Making it 4 nations.

The thing is we can't have another tri-nations because it will be a waste of time with Australia so dominant. There would be very little interest. One of the great side effects of having an Indigenous team is it would make Australia vs England/NZL more of a genuine contest.

Australian Indiginous vs England would be a pretty spiteful clash too

And why would Aboriginals v England be spiteful? No-one in England invaded Australia, I've never been near the place. In fact, by very definition, it must be current white Australians who's ancesters invaded Australia and took their land. Don't blame me for it.

Yeah exactly. Just like Maori tours are cool too. They should travel to places like USA, South Africa, Japan and be included in the re-born Pacific Cup just like they used to be.

Just a pity there is no money in it.

terrible idea. australia doesnt deserve 2 teams for starters, and test teams are national teams, not racially based teams.

Who in their right minds would want to pull apart such a brilliant side. We have every right to be winning. England and NZ have no right to be so sh*t, considering NZ have a shtload of amazing players across the NRL and SL, and England have the ESL which is nearly as big a comp as the NRL. They are making a mockery of RL by being incompetent, not us by being awesome.
