Lol at keyboard heroes who have probably never laced on a boot calling an NRL player a "coward".

I'm no fan of the way the bloke plays but he sure as hell ain't a coward; or a pea heart either. No first grade player is. Go run out for your local A reggies side this weekend and see how cowardly first grade players are.

It wouldn't be an unfair fight.

Taylor would be wearing studs & by the time someone got to the heart of Redfern, you wouldn't have any shoes.

Yes, yes, all those toothless Redfern jokes. They never get old, do they? However, for the first time in over twenty years the other day, I had cause to go to Hurstville. Can only imagine what it's like after dark in and around that railway station. Wonder how many kitchen hands would be jumping out windows if someone called out "immigration police"?

Few if any outside backs have the hands and short kicking game that he does. Phil graham is the only one in recent years I can think of with as great a kicking brain. As for his play making ability, well he is in the Inglis class IMO for actually knowing how to put his outside man away (unlike most centres who are mostly quite selfish with the pill).

I'm hardly talking about him trying to get down to greyhound weight anyway. Anything under 110kg would make a massive difference to his endurance, agility and pace (2 of which re already pretty decent to begin with). Would help him be able to be strong in defence instead of being a liability.

He doesn't have the courage for the middle of the field. Much easier to change his body than his mind IMO.

I dunno if you're looking at the same bloke, but from where I'm sitting Taylor is the most massively built bloke in the comp. His hands, his legs, his head: although not particularly tall he is unusually gigantic, almost disproportionate. He'd never get below 110kg (unless he was training for a marathon) and he'll always look like a prop.

You think there is no way he can lose 12kg?

The bloke is carrying that just around his gut and arse FFS

Who knows what he really weighs now though?

I'm saying that looking at his overall size and comparing him to other NRL players and their listed weights, I would guesstimate a good playing weight for him at about 120kg. He's near enough to the biggest bloke out there. Compare him to guys who play at 108-110kg, he is naturally miles bigger.

The only way I would agree with you would be if you agreed that ALL NRL players should get down below 110kg no matter how big they are.

He is rated as he should be. A player with a ton of talent who is Deadset lazy. Rocks and diamonds.

A bit like a box of chocolates one week to the next. You just never know what your going to get next.

Nemy on the other hand is consistent. Consistently a complete f**kwit!

No caucasian NRL player should be over 120kg IMO.

Shillington is about the biggest man in the game and he plays at around the 112-115kg range. Having several inches in height on Taylor there's no reason Taylor can't play at the same or below weight. The extra 10kg of fat Taylor carries around with him unquestionably has a severe negative effect on his game in terms of lateral movement in defence and most importantly his ability to shine over an entire game instead of in 10 min bursts followed by 15 mins of hands on hips rubbish.

Polynesian boys like kasiano can carry more weight successfully, although even big sammy is carrying a sizeable gut (plays right up the middle though so doesn't effect his game so much).

IF he had the anger of Tallis when he was playing he would be scary

So sit him in a room with Tallis and get him angry.

So often giants of men become gentle as to not intimidate people with their size.

Maybe someone needs to tell him he can be angry, if controlled, on a football field.

Hell, even at uncontrolled levels, he'd still offer more than everybodys favourite - LOD. Tbh, I miss LOD in the NRL.

Agree to disagree there. Taylor is built bigger than anyone in the game including the Polynesian boys. He's a freak in terms of his build, which is why he got all the attention in the first place. You can hardly compare him to Shillington who is a man mountain but a beanpole compared to Taylor.

Kasiano looks to be carrying as much fat as anyone but then it wouldn't surprise me if he was over 130kg atm, with 120-125kg being a good, "lean" playing weight for him. It also wouldn't surprise me if Taylor was pushing 130kg on a "fat" day. I could cop 115-120kg as a good weight for Taylor but I can't see him getting lower without it becoming counter-productive, stripping off muscle and actively trying NOT to have a league player's physique. I believe I've read articles before where he talks about 118kg as what he is "supposed" to weigh, but how he's been 126kg or 128kg at times when he's let himself go.

However, in terms of your general point that he could play centre- I suppose one M. Meninga provides pretty solid (excuse the pun) evidence that you can be the most thickset bloke in the comp and still be a centre.
