Union and AFL, i have tried watching but just cant get into them, too boring.

Obviously i follow the NRL but also follow the NBA, EPL and NFL, all much more entertaining then union and afl

cant totaly disagree there, they came like a thief in the night, they came with a trojon horse promising no wars and peace for all, but i guess vlad wont be explaining to young billy who idolises israel why he wont be seeing his idol play anymore.

but just dont blame vlad, blame israel as well, this guy (IMO) will go down as the biggest sporting whore the country has seen, he has the loyalty of a snake, the AFL will learn of this as soon as his contract expires.

the funny thing is there is always more stars coming though in nrl... even after all the poaching from both codes.. the wallabies cant still even beat the all blacks and afl cant even get a game against the irish as they are too big and too strong for for those blokes in tight shorts.. falou will b a flop in afl unless the two years of training can do SOMETHING... imagine how the afl payers feel lyk... not one of them would make the nrl..

But I can't tolerate trolls, and I can't tolerate the AFL administration. I don't hate the game itself, I don't hate the players, I just hate the people running the game who think they are the best thing since sliced bread and wish to preach their game on others who have grown up within a different culture.

Grew up in Canberra during th Raiders glory years. Went to a union school, so had an appreciation of both codes. Was never really interested in AFL, but worked at the SCG while at uni and learned an appreciation for it - its a cliche but it is a lot better live. Don't watch much AFL, just the occasional big game.

But I don't appreciate having it rammed down my throat by their managment. I think most people in NSW and QLD no the game exists and have had some exposure to it. Stop forcing it upon us. Its like they are Mormons or something. Izzy was a good choice.

I don't particularly like watching AFL but have great admiration for their administration
Soccer is ok when it is big Internationals
Union I hate with a passion, the scum have spent 100 years trying to damage RL for no good reason other than a class thing and still seething that we took their game and made it better!

point 1, ill tell you now, the AFL doesnt produce many ablett/judds/buddys/browns/reiwoldts, these guys dont grow on trees in the AFL, these guys are rated as good as anyone to have played the game, league have a much deeper talent pool, they can draw from NZ/ the islands, even the UK or SA if the price is right, this will never change IMO.

Love all footy codes, always have and always will. I think too many people on here get a tad defensive about footy and refuse to ackowledge the skills involved in other codes, and resorting to petty remarks related to homosexuality and place of birth is pretty poor form imo, and doesn't add substance to any argument. No one can force you to embrace other sports but at least acknowledge the talent involved with the athletes that participate.

What do expect when coming onto these forums? RL fans here are diehards. Some, if not most, probably like other sports (Soccer, Cricket, AFL, Union, Basketball etc etc) but their number 1 sport will likely be RL.

I dislike AFL and Union for differing reasons. Personally, I don't mind Aussie rules as a "sport", the last time I watched was in 2000 (f**k it's been a decade!) supporting the Dees. My support quickly faded when the commentators started bagging the "no-neck code" (whatever that means) and the "bum-sniffers" (Again, WTF?)

Since then the AFL and it's personalities have openly targeted RL in an effort to kill of the sport (laughable)... that's how I went from liking to ignoring to hating the AFL. I'm sure there's AFL fans who have experienced the opposing effect with regards to RL (i.e. AFL, Faggotball, Fumbleball etc)

Yawnion, on the other hand, is a disgrace of a sport. As a sport - it's sh*t. It's a sh*t version of RL. I've tried on many occassions to watch it when there's nothing else on. I remember thinking "If I like RL so much, and they're both codes of rugby, surely I should enjoy Union aswell"... boy I'm a fool. Every chance, it let's me down... most boring sport on earth, even moreso than golf and cricket (oh and motor "sport"). I hate the people involved with Union aswell... arrogant merkins who've tried to unfairly kill of our sport time and time again...and have failed time and time again...

The biggest reason I dislike (hate) Onion is because of Vichy France... never forgive, never forget!

Not one AFL player could make the switch, they would be doing a tough enough job doing enough strength and conditioning just so they could last more that 10 minutes out there, the NRL is a collision sport only the NFL could safely say there are more physical demands of certain players in their game, but most would laugh at you if you asked them to take their gear off and play what we play without a considerable pay rise, they think we are mad.

Ha if you swapped AFL and Union around in your post it would be me to a tee, my interest for Union has waned since 2003 and didn't like the way they go for free exposure off the back of Rugby League. But AFL I would rather watch Nascar go around in circles for 180 laps or watch the Williams sisters versus each other in Tennis. It is that bad.
