Can we not all agree that we have at times played exceptionally better RL this season with what we'd mostly agree is with an experimental squad? Did we miss Brown tonight?
Can we not already see the improvement in our squad this season, despite the fact that we all think that we have an inferior squad and it still needs improvement?
I was not at all surprised by our win tonight.
Even though Moses' kicking game made a difference, tonight's win showed me so much more than that.
I'm seeing a team full of massive improvement and intent.
A few astute further purchases could well see us challenging sooner than we think.
I honestly love what Ryles is doing and I'll continue to fully back him at this stage.

Oh dear. Yes, there has already been discussion re his future. It was laughable.

OK, I must have scrolled through that pretty quick. It's early days and as you say signs have been promising compared to where things were a year ago.

But like any coach, if he hasn't meet a kpi/expectation of success in the year before his final year, then that final year is likely to be brought short. But hopefully we're pushing for an edge top 8 spot next season.

I think there will continue to be questions asked about the make up of the squad and the players let go and lack of external recruitment. But that isn't all on Donk.
When it comes to the style of footy they’re playing and how he’s brought on some of the young/inexperienced guys I think he’s done a great job. Compare the games played against most of the teams we’ve played and it’s not comparable. Put a hypothetical salary cap on the 17 we’ve run out against our opposition and it isn’t comparable.
next year will come down to hopefully recruiting 2-3 players over the offseason and the continued development of the kids we’ve given a run this year and hopefully a few more next year.
I think he‘s done a good job with what he has and agree with the way he has gone about it. Has been hampered significantly by the loss of Moses throughout the year. Just need a 6 and a few others and we’ll surprise next year.

I agree. I questioned the Ryles appointment at the time but he has impressed me this year. I saw lots of positives in some of our close loses and am really pleased that they finally got a win.

The young guys in our squad will hopefully continue to improve and with some more sensible recruitment I think we can build a really strong side in the years to come.

The difference in attitude between both sides was really obvious tonight. We aren't the finished product but I love the effort that we are playing with.

I agree with that, but there was talk about him going at the end of next year if we don't perform. I think that's a bit ridiculous. Chopping and changing coaches every couple of years wont get us anywhere.

We've taken the Raiders and Melbourne to reasonably close games of late, and then tonight we've beaten the 5 game undefeated Broncos away.
Yet, every time we lose, turds on here want to criticize everything. Every tactic, every player, the coach. Even the f**king cleaning lady at the leagues club.
I'm hoping that with this thread, we can possibly look at positives, because there are many that I can see.

We will be ahead of Dragons, Knights, Tigers, Titans this time next year at a minimum.

Ryles has done a marvellous job culling the rubbish out of the joint.

Now is the time to be patient and see the rebuild through.

He has actually done the hard work already.

Now it's letting the young ones grow and learn with each other to become better players and a core group we can build off.

Most neutrals can see the improvement.

Parra fans are stuck with 40 years of PTSD and Trauma that are hampering our judgement atm.

I actually see blue skies in 2027 and beyond we just have to stay the course.

You won’t stop the shit talk cos the venting just gets transferred by stealth to the FM, CEO, Chair, R&R, as if they somehow do footy stuff without the coach’s knowledge and direction. When something good happens, they Stephen Bradbury it somehow.

Maybe soon people will acknowledge that the coach has total autonomy and leave it at that.

I’ve said that he is and will be a very good coach. He bought a knock down and rebuild property. His knockdown has been refreshing.
Most coaches come to a club with one eye on the wins column in order to protect their job. Flanagan a prime example.
This bloke hasn’t. He hasn’t tried to rebuild new before the old joint has been razed. He has given up a possible extra few wins this year by leaving out players that won’t help us later…after his own contract has ended.
The young blokes he has played may or may not be the future but he decided that playing them is better for both them and us as a club. The other guys? Leave them out to get them out and it’s not finished yet.
The rebuild hasn’t begun. Right now I don’t think it’s the top priority for him. We need to play a good brand of footy and be competitive every week in order to attract players. We are starting to do that. Last night was an outlier great performance but they have been working towards better performances like that since round five.
The guy has shown he (and his mates he bought in) can coach a good brand of footy. He has shown that he is selfless around team selection. He has shown that he will make the tough calls with the veterans. He has shown he values youth and gaining experience. He has shown that he gets his players to play with heart, aggression and effort. These are the things that will attract players to our club and because his knockdown has been swift and ruthless we should get a bunch of coin soon enough to be able to pay them.

I think he is a great coach. As I’ve said previously, we won’t win a comp in his current contract period but we will certainly be challenging in his next.
