Just wondering, I was keen on doing one yesterday that is mostly weights, when I went in I was the only bloke there, workout was good though, thinking of doing one with more circuits though.

ANyway, is it wrong for blokes to do gym classes given I was the only one there? Do girls frown upon it?

I've seen some ones that look decent, but have never been. Guys do those cycle classes or what ever. I wouldn't go to a bum, tum and thighs though....

I dont know about right, but its certainly not as wrong as it was 10-15 years ago :)

Like someone said pick your classes, obviously aerobics and such are pretty feminine.

you say it like its a bad thing........
Just stand at the back (preferably behind a hot chick), and you'll find you're workout to be most satisfying

The only reason groups have a higher number of women is because they're social creatures and I think they prefer to work out with each other.
Guys work out alone, they don't really like to stop and chat, they get in and do their session and get out.
There are exceptions obviously, I'm a girl and I work out alone and can't talk at all, but yeah from experience.

And no girls don't frown upon it, I run a Saturday morning boot camp and there's only one guy in it atm.....and honestly he gets a LOT of attention!

Pfft, there's nothing wrong with it at all.

Stereotypes are for idiots.

If the class provides a good work out then go for it. And that applies to zumba as much as it does to body pump.

Gor for it, man.

Nah I've hit the gym with a few guys who had been doing classes for a while and all where weak as piss, had lost muscle mass and tone. Classes are ok every now and then for a bit of fitness but you need to keep up the resistance training or you lose it.

Next to a bar, the gym is the ultimate pick up joint especially those group classes of pilates and yoga classes as the female to male ratio is always in your favour. Particularly if you have the body to not even need to be there. You just want to "tone" up a bit

Well obviously if your goal is building strength than classes wouldn't provide you with the same edge as a dedicated strength program, however I've found classes to be great for shredding before summer, beats flogging yourself on a treadmill

Actually Pilates is the only one worth doing out of all of them. Good flexibility.

Body combat? Seriously? Do a martial art instead.

Yoga is far better for flexibility.

I thought we were talking about gym classes here? No gym Ive been to offers any strict martial arts. Boxing/body combat is good cardio and is far less faggy than the others
