Is King the NRL's worst starting prop?

The tale of last night's tape:

  • 23 metres in around 40 minutes of play.
  • Missed tackle leads to soft try.
  • Several other crucial missed tackles while defending our goal line.
  • 3 dumb penalties conceded.
And by last season's standards, that's one of his better games. Who can forget the Sharks game where he played 40 minutes, took two hitups for 5 metres and spilled the ball on one of them.

Is there another starting prop in the NRL that can claim to performing worse than King does week in and week out?

Worst prop to ever wear the Manly colours! Kings form this year as well as 2005 warrants a lengthy spell in A grade.

Hopefully he will get dropped this week.

But I would have sacked him after the Sharks game last year.
Too right, that game gives me the shakes just remembering it!

He's bringing Kite down as well because Kite has the work load of 2 props to handle in that first 20.

hey, at least he's consistent!

seriously, i'm still suprised this guy is a starter for us. he was enough of a liability last season.

You know a bloke is ordinary when even the so-called "official" supporters group is starting to realise it.

I'm still perplexed as to why Heckenberg was let go ahead of King. Does he have photos of Hasler in a compromising position or something to that effect?

Same Colonel. It could have just come down to salary cap payouts? Or there is some at Manly who think that with King, there still may be hope?

Just clear this up

Jason King apparently made

21 tackles 8 missed, 7 hit ups and 70m. 2 handling errors and 2 penalties. (I swear it was 3 handling and 3 penalties though.) Source RLW.

Even at 70m, it still is not anywhere near what we need from our props.

Missing 8 tackles is disgusting!

So he misses more than 1 in 3. No wonder the opposition run at him all day. It's simply not NRL standard (especially when you consider many of his "completed" tackles are a third man in flop).

Don't you people read?

Hecks asked for a release as he received a massive (in Hecks terms) offer he could'nt say no to.

Actually have to give credit to King after his effort against the Sharks. Look he's still missing tackles and not making many yards but after that head clash (I'm not sure if he remebers playing after it) he came back and played pretty well for a guy in cookoo land!

Shuddup saab. he has made some bollucking runs, betteeer than webcke over the last few seasons. remeber his 100m effort against canberra in which beaver supported him?
