Is our hooker moving on

The 26-year-old's preference is to stay with the joint venture but on Wednesday he said his future could lie elsewhere.

"These things, they take a lot of time. I did expect it to drag out," he said at Dragons training at Kogarah Oval.

"That's just how it is. I have tried to keep my distance from it all and leave it up to my manager. It can be a distraction - but for me it is not.

"These things happen and if I have to move on there is no point sulking about it. If I am playing good footy I will get a job somewhere."

While pivot Benji Marshall is also off contract, Rein said he'd like to continue with he, Marshall, five-eighth Gareth Widdop and representative fullback Josh Dugan as the club's spine.

Mitch is obviously having difficulty extracting an acceptable offer from the club.

It will be interesting to see what the club has in mind should Rein chose to leave.

Yes, that spine has done so well for us the last few years...

If Rein is looking for the money he is reported to be looking for, then he can go. He is no big loss. It's the clubs own fault that they missed the likes of Peats and young Smith from the Cowboys, the only chance of a decent hooker moving forward is Segeyaro, who has a clause stating that he can leave Leeds if another NRL club comes knocking.

If Rein is happy to stay on a reduced contract, then cool.

Reece Robson from our 20s is a super player, wouldnt be suprised if he is promoted to the first grade squad next year, very talented

Coster goes good, don't know if he's up to NRL level.

Definitely not at this stage. There was some talk Damien Cook could be heading back to the Dragons or Bulldogs - anyone?

Reece Robson looks to have plenty of potential, who knows if he can make the huge leap to NRL level? Let's hope he has better luck with injuries than Cameron King.

I honestly believe that Rein is at best average and at the reported asking price it may be time to move him on.Should he sign at club valuation all well and good.I have no issue with him leaving.

Not many Aussie clubs will have cap space to pay him what he thinks he's worth, maybe tigers if they ditch Farah, and Knights ....that's about it.
Gold Coast have Peats, manly have two young gun hookers, panthers spent their hooker cash on fullback Hardaker. Other clubs seem content with their hooking options...
We should have made a play for Peats. By far a more consistent dummy half who is getting better each season.

We apparently rejected him recently when parra were trying to offload him.Go figure.

Mate the last two off seasons and mid season there has been a glut of good experienced hookers and promising young hookers on the market at one stage or another, and to think we didn't end up with any of them is very poor.

The club seems to have an over inflated opinion of rein which I simply don't see...

Who's going to buy him? I'm not bagging him out, I think I have a higher opinion of him than most on the board. But where's he going to go where he'll get more money than with us and be guaranteed a starting position?

Knights and tigers perhaps the only clubs....

Cherrington, korasiou, Purcell, one of those will do.

Gee whiz, for all our gas bagging about who we are going to sign, all we've ended up with is Tariq Sims. Bravo Dragons.

It sure is dragging out. What a tease! We're so close to finally letting him go, so the sucker punch when his re-signing is announced is going to really hurt this time

Not sure where all this Rein hate is coming from. He is actually quite good IMO.
I'd happily take him. You can have Ballin, Halatau and hell even Farah. :)

I think Rein is responding well to criticism and has improving his form. That said, if the club decides to change the spine dynamics by introducing someone else in, then why not. As always I'd lean towards giving another local junior a go. We have the talent out there.

Come on then on your way Rein start packing your bags and GO. He is a hinderance to our attack. Best he go to the Knights where he will learn from the worst coach Brown.

What is Reins value. ZERO.
