Is our hooker moving on

If Rein wants a significant increase in salary they should let him move on.

Benji's body is struggling to hold up. His contract should not be renewed.

Benny Creagh will always be a club legend. His time to retire has arrived.

Poor Dylan Farrell. Your contract is also up.

Quinlan should never have been resigned.

Mike Cooper is leaving. Sorry to see you go Mike.

Plenty of salary cap space available for quality players.

When we sign a quality coach, the quality players will sign with us. Not before.

If Mary and Millward were to be paid what the forum thinks they are collectively worth, I doubt it would be enough to buy a packet of chewing gum.

Rein is a much better player than Mary is a coach.

All true.

Straight Shooter

*although they should let Rein go regardless

I agree re Benji and Rein . And I tend to be thinking the same about Widdop and Dugan . I watched 360 a month or so ago and they listed the top 10 payed players and Dugan was listed at 8 on 850k . If that is the case he is looking for a upgrade for another 3 years after 17 he would be on over 1mil per season . And I agree at the moment he isn't in the top 6 fullbacks and that is because the game seems to suit the faster ball playing fullbacks like Tedesco , Moylan, Coote , Boyd who all score more tries and have many more try assists . I think Dugan is becoming a square peg in a round hole . Even playing centre he still hasn't the passing game or speed which our side needs badly .

As for Widdop since becoming captain his game has gone backwards badly . Maybe the answer is a complete new spine for 18 that is more balanced ....But a new coaching staff is a must .

I see Wallace mentioned a few times, I dont think hes remotely a 9, he has been tried there this year due to him not being able to displace Nona/Hutch (and even McCrone), but hes been concussed twice and honestly the poor bloke, hes not tiny but he is slender.... I think hes a half or a 5/8... but its not fair to make him do all that defence.

This weekend Wallace will come off the bench, and im praying he will get some time at 5/8 and maybe do enough to warrant a selection, but I doubt it..

Note: I saw that Nona wasnt dropped btw for tonights game, hes visiting his family in qld, it was organised months ago, as this was supposed to be the Cutters bye round.

I was filthy the day we signed Duges on a 4yr deal after waiting a few weeks for him to go from zero (the bloke noone wanted) to hero on the field.. i.e. and we had to pay him top dollar.

The Duges is royalty ofcourse.. but value for money is terrible.. we have to literally build an entire gameplan around what he cant do on the field.. a different story if he was priced @400k with that extra 450k added onto a halfbacks salary (and we get a genuine superstar), but @850k and with our inability to cheat with TPA's like most clubs, its very difficult to build around him.

Rein just needs to find consistency in his game, because on his day he can be extremely dangerous.

I suggest toning down his defensive workload.

If you watch the best dummy halves in the game they always look calm, as if they have all the time in the world (Cameron Smith for example). Rein always looks erratic and rushed. Something to think about.

Other clubs have recognised Dugan's lack of value and won't offer him enough money to lure him away from us (except the promise of a premiership).

Because of this, i don't think we'll receive much competition for him, i think clubs would rather chase ball playing fullbacks like Tedesco and Moylan.

It's called a football brain and unfortunately Rein lacks in is area... IMO he's got to first grade on the back of his physical abilities and work rate, however this will only get you so far and as you mentioned we need someone who can control the game from dummy half , and this isn't rein..

They need more than just a hooker.

The halves both have no brains between them and it shows in the way they play with neither able to actually direct the team in anyway shape of form.

Its easy to see why he can be erract both Marshall or Widdop flat out refuse to take any control or just have no idea how to.

This is a post about Mich Rein but if the club is really serious then offload Josh Dugan. Now pedestrian. His star has fallen and How can it return. He seriously lacks any genuine dash. . He has been ordinary and Manly game plain embarrassing. I reckon other players busting their boiler on $200 to $300K must shake their heads at Dugan.

Let Matt Dufty go to fullback. An absolute flyer and attack machine.

I agree with Mark Gaznier. Put Duges to center with reduced salary say 550k. Put extra money to a ball playing full back. Drop Tim Laffai

I'm looking forward to team list Tuesday. I would expect some changes to the team that played the Sea-Eagles.

I noticed Mann didn't play for the Cutters yesterday.
