Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

Yes, I'd hate to imagine Cotric being ruined like Inglis was, watching him last night I was thinking if he remains on the wing he could be another Grothe/Ribot or grows into a Meninga. I shuddered at the thought of asking the young bloke to waste his size/speed/health trying to clean up like Slater does

I'd be devastated if we lost simple jack and had to play Cotric at fullback.
Just read Cotric was born in the ACT. Does that mean he's eligible to play for either QLD or NSW depending on who he chooses? Or have the NSW board put a rule in place for that as well?

You would assume all his junior and school football would have been under the NSWRL banner.

Since 2012 the eligibility criteria is much stricter, no more Greg Inglis or James Tamou's.

CAP PRESSURE TO HURT RAIDERS

CANBERRA Raiders are under severe salary cap pressure for 2018 and may have to release one of their biggest names.

While all the recent talk has been about Canterbury having to cut players, the Raiders are in a similar position.

Coach Ricky Stuart had to pay “overs’’ to entice players to the national capital when he first arrived.

Even keeping players such as fullback Jack Wighton cost $750,000 a season.

The only way to get under the cap for next season is by cutting a $500,000 player.

Ah the good old Daily Astonisher at it again. Leave it up to Fairfax to come up with a more balanced view:

There are reports up to 11 clubs could be forced to offload players if the final salary cap figure comes up short of where they've been working towards as negotiations continue to try and finalise a cap for next season and beyond.

It could be $9.2 million for a 30-man squad for the 2018 season, but it could be as low $8.8 million if a $400,000 integrity fund isn't included.

Some clubs had been working towards a $10 million cap.

Honestly, to not have next years salary cap set yet is an absolute disgrace, and it will affect more than just the Raiders if the final figure comes in too low.

BIG-SPENDING clubs have been warned they risk the contracts of their high prized recruits not being registered by the NRL if they exceed the game’s proposed new salary cap.

The NRL wrote to the 16 club chief executives on Thursday night sending a stern warning that the clubs must adhere to the proposed salary cap of $8.84 million for next year — or risk their contracts not being registered.

Any moron can see that News Ltd want to try and create another Cricket pay dispute debacle to sell papers.

Sure was nice of the Raiders to open the books for their slimey journos and give them the pay details of our players.

Unheard of the DT to create a nothing story let alone about the Raiders. Sticky must have missed a shout with Crawley & Kent for this to get a bit of oxygen.
