Bottom of the list at converting inside the opposition 20 into points . . . most damning statistic for a coach

First win by the Warriors in Canberra since 1996. You a record breaker, well done Ricky.

It was 1997 and that record applies to Canberra Stadium. The Warriors beat us at Manuka Oval in 2001 (moved becuase the Brumbies were hosting the Super 12 Final).

But still.....

I expect the other hoodoo to be put to bed this season also. We're not winning another game this year.

Not only the first win since 97 in Canberra, but Sticky was Raiders captain in that game too

Normally I'd consider it pretty hard to be overrated when nobody rates the guy. In Stickys case, having a first grade NRL head coach job is an enormous overating of his ability. At least the Sharks show some heart occassionally.

Ricky
Stuart ... rugby coaching superstar.
Speaker Profile

Ricky Stuart jumped to the top of rugby league's world coaching ladder in 2002 with his spectacular first-up success with the Sydney Roosters and then the World Club Challenge crown.

Throw in being voted Coach of the Year in the NSW Sports Awards in 2002 and it all added up to a tumultuous few months for the former dual international.

Stuart's trophy cabinet is now groaning from the weight of numerous team awards, including three premierships as a player with the Canberra Raiders (1989, 1990 and 1994), the Jersey Flegg premiership with the Canterbury Bulldogs (2001) and, with the Sydney Roosters, the NRL premiership (2002), World Cup Challenge (2003) and Team of the Year in the NSW Sports Awards (2003).

Individual honours include several Test and State of Origin man-of-the-match awards, the Clive Churchill Medal as the best-and-fairest player in Canberra's 1990 grand final victory over Penrith and Dally M player of the year and Rothmans Medal winner in 1993.

The Roosters NRL victory over the New Zealand Warriors in 2002 broke a 27-year drought for the club and the 38-0 whitewash over St Helens in the World Club Challenge in the United Kingdom was the biggest winning margin in the history of the annual showdown.

Stuart enjoys immense standing in the rugby league world.

After touring Argentina with the 1987 Wallabies, he switched to rugby league the following year. He went on to become the architect of many memorable victories by the Canberra Raiders, Canterbury Bulldogs, New South Wales and Australia.

The gifted halfback made two Kangaroo tours to England and France (1990 and 1994) and on both occasions was heavily credited with laying the groundwork for Ashes triumphs.
